Date
Howdy Ed....
Congrats on the date. Boy that is right around the corner!
Apparently what is "good" is seriously subjective. I have also heard that tastes can change dramatically after surgery. My Nutritionalist suggested getting a tasteless or very bland Protein powder. That way you can mix it with things until you get a drink you can tolerate.
Well...just my 2 cents.
Best of luck and let us know how it goes.
Dave
Hi Ed,
Have not had it yet. I am scheduled for March 15th. I have been investigating and doing research for more than 2 years now. I got serious about it last summer and got approved (insurance co), last week.
My insurance co basically forced me to have all of my pre-op testing before approval, so I was well down the path before I got a surgery date. I also ended up with a lot of time to try things and meet with the Nutrionalist.
Don't be shy about asking questions. This is a big step and you need as much information as you can digest (pun intended).
Best of luck,
Dave
Hello ED,
Congrats on your date! MIne is march 26th woohoo! Anyways about the protein shakes, just so u know, if you are anything like me, and dislike taking the shakes and prefer something faster and better tasting, try the ISOPURE Liquid protein drink at the GNC store. It tastes like kool-aid, get the fruit punch...good luck Ed. Please add me as you friend let me know how everything goes!! Kathy
Hi Ed I'm having my surgery on March 9th and the only protein drink I've tried so far is ISO PURE, I got a sample box of it at GNC there were 5 or so different types in the box. I tried the dutch chocolate and it was Super! It had No after taste and it was really smooth and good. It's pricey though... but I figure if it tastes good It won't get wasted and it has 10 gr of protein per drink .
