enjoy your spinning class girl! yes! I did see it on the food network, it was a commercial from Ellie Krieger and so easy to make! half the bananas, stick a popsicle stick in each, freeze them for an hour or so melt chocolate (I use those little hersheys sf bars), dip the banana in chocolate and then roll it in your favorite chopped nuts (word to the wise, do it in that order because the chocolate freezes instantly and then the nuts wont stick, like my first banana example lol). great treat!

Today is my last day at home, I'm going back to work tomorrow I'm excited to get out of the house and am only working 3 - 1/2 days this week. Nervous about being out of my "element" on crutches, but I'll be ok! Been putting things together to bring back to the office, getting clothes ready, food ready, etc. I still have 2 servings of steel cut oats left for tomorrow and thurs. Interesting product I must say... First time making them, so I didn't know if you stir them less they wont be as gummy (next week I'll try that). Theyre very good, different texture than instant oats (more of a brown rice consistency). Luckily you can cook and reserve in the fridge then reheat because the process isn't feesable. First toast, then soak over night and finally cook in a pot, but since they're better for you I'll give it a shot. heres my day so far... breakfast - steel cut oats, dried apples, walnuts, 1T pb medium coffee - sf starbucks dolce cinnamon syrup, xmilk (anyone hooked on sf starbuck syrups, you can buy a bottle at the stores ) lunch - taco with ground beef and rf shredded cheese snack - activia yogurt with 2T wheat germ dinner - taco with ground beef and rf shredded cheese snack - 1/2 frozen banana dipped in sf hersheys chocolate coated with chopped cashews mmmm water - 2nd - 32oz bottle in vitamins - just took my multi, will get my calcium in tonight exercise - just crutchin around the house... hows everyones day going? let us know!

hey Barb, glad to see you stayed home during the snow! what a mess out there on those roads they showed on the news. My good habit is the same as Stephanies, I'm good at preparing for the week. Saturday I think about what I want to eat for the week at work, I make a list, grocery shop and Sunday morning I wake up and prepare enough food for the next 5 days. Put the milk in a container for the weeks oatmeal or make muffins, make a lunch meal, put it in individual containers, snacks (sometimes grapefruit) cut them up and put in individual snack containers for the week.. It just helps keep me from walking downtown and buying junk food at cvs or going for takeout and eating something I shouldnt. My bad habit is on the weekends no matter how much I try to plan and get my protein in I dont. I usually skip out on protein shakes, eat more snacks instead of protein, eat very late at night, go out for drinks, eat fattening appetizers... No matter what, I should try and get the shake in even if the other things dont change on weekends. Atleast it would be an extra 30 grams in no matter what.. Something I will work on!

my day was ok, I've been doing the 14 day activia challenge to hopefully help get my digestive tract a little more... regular. seems to be helping so far. my day was ok, little too much snacking tho breakfast - steel cut oats with dried apples and walnuts, not enough protein, crashed and needed to balance it again (forgot to add peanut butter for extra protein) lunch - whole grain tortilla chips with taco meat and rf shredded cheese snack - cashews wasn't hungry for dinner so I had a handful of peanuts snack again - activia yogurt with granola water - 3 - 32oz bottles vitamins - all in exercise - none, too messy out to leave the house hope our New England Marchers were safe in their houses yesterday during the storm

my struggles last week were baked goods! Even though I make them healthy by using whole wheat flour and no real sugar, I still feel like every week I make something (banana bread a few weeks ago, carrot cake muffins last week, oatmeal cake this week), I feel like I snack on it too much and skip out on amounts of protein I should be getting. I finally go back to work tomorrow (half days this week), so hopefully that will get me back to a schedule and I'll stop making so many baked goods!! It sounds like you have a great plan in action to get back on track Rick, and I give you credit for getting those outside walks in during storms, kudoos to you!

Hi Barbara, My good habit is walking. There are days I don't want to walk and those are usually the days I need it the most. I really miss it when I don't walk. I also am good about my water. I drink at least 100 ounces a day. I'm sorry you are not 100% yet. I hope you feel better soon. You were wise not to start your pouch test until you feel better. You don't need anything holding you back. It doesn't help that you have had lousy weather lately. Take care, Rick

I wondered where you have been. I got that cold and stayed home from work on the 4th of January and I am still not over it. I spit and spew and blow my nose the entire ride into Boston in the morning and continue to blow my nose throughout the day. On Friday, the 4th, Saturday and Sunday I did absolutely nothing but sit in front of the TV with the pugs - I didn't have fever and don't think I had the flu, but it was a persistent cold. I took the Tylenol night time for severe colds and that really helped me to sleep. I still don't feel 100% and my head still feels stopped up. As soon as all that goes away and I feel better - I want to get serious about exercise. I think that is one reason I put off the 5-day pouch test because I just don't feel good yet. Anyway - hope you are getting better soon. Barb
