Topic: RE: Marcher's is it worth it?
Okay guys, confession time.
Yesterday I was busy. I worked 6 hours then left early to go to my support group meeting which is 100 miles away. I didn't eat right and didn't get in all of my water. So anway I get home about 9:30 p.m. fire up the computer and send off this post. The next thing I do is I go to the fridge and cut myself a piece of chocolate cream pie. Hey I deserved it right?
From my post above "Do I always make the right choice? No. Do I always pay for it in one way or another? You betcha."
Guess what, I paid for it. I had one of the very few dumping episodes I have ever had. I didn't like it. I hope I remember next time to listen to my own advice.

Such a good idea to donate money instead of buying candy and having it around the house!

Pumpkin spice latte oh how I use to love pumpkin spice lattes!! I'm so happy that after checking 2 starbucks that I was told they don't have sugar free pumpkin syrup and proably wouldn't this season! Its incredible how many empty calories there are and how easy it is to consume them. thanks for the information!

Barbara,
You are so good to remind me to take my vitamins. The problem is I just realized I forgot to bring them with me to work. I have never done that before. My wife slept in and I walked two miles in the dark, but I forgot to grab the vitamins. I WILL take them when I get home.
Have a great day, Rick

You will TOTALLY be surprised at how much you really do walk during the day when you get your pedometer......I logged 1.25 miles yesterday and never even went out my front door. That's just around the house doing regular stuff....
Don't forget to count all the other activities you also do during the day......Stylz posted a chart a few days ago to give us an idea of equal movements. That stair climbing counts!!!
Topic: WDYET?? *** WEDNESDAY ***
wow the week is zipping by! Yesterday I was so swamped with work and then I left for a support group meeting at 12:30 and didn't return. Trying to catch up on emails and everything in the office.
The bike ride was great while down at the cape. We did the second leg of the trail on Monday... yup in the drizzle.. bf didn't look happy about it, but it stopped shortly after we started our journey and didn't return. Much chillier than the first trip we took, but it was just as enjoyable. My quads feel like they're going to pop out of my skin.. that was a whole lot of bike riding!!
food hasn't been bad today until of course... a professor arrived with homemade Brazilian cheese bread balls, still warm mind you ... needless to say I had to give in...
heres my day so far...
drive to work - iso fruit pink lemonade protein shake
medium caramel iced coffee, x-smart milk
breakfast - weight control oatmeal with 2/3c. smart milk
snack? - brazilian cheese bread ball
lunch - 1 cup un-fried beans, 1 oz. cheese and enchillada sauce
dinner - 1/2c. lomein noodles with pesto sauce, roasted mushrooms and tomatoes with 5 shrimp (I'm so hooked on this right now!)
snack - not sure...
vitamins - took all but 1 calcium
exercise - day off..
water - lots and lots I feel like I'm floating lol
hows everyone doing today, let us know
Topic: MARCHers going to goal!
Life does not require us to make good; it asks only that we give our best at each level of experience.....Harold Ruopp
Well, we gave our BEST during the decision to have WLS, we gave our BEST recovering from WLS, we gave our BEST in the first few months following WLS....BUT are we giving our best at this level of going for goal? I personally do not think I am giving MY best and I know I need to make some improvements and make them NOW before I get back to where I was. As Harold Ruopp says, life does not require us to make good - what or *****quires us to get to goal and make good - answer is: NOBODY. But we owe it to ourselves to give our best at this point in our quest for the goal we have set for ourselves.
Come on MARCHers - we have come so far to date. Just try very hard today to follow the 4 golden rules. Life does not require us to make good, but I think each of us requires ourselves to made good with this journey and be successful. Will you give it your very BEST today to make good? What will you do today to do your best? YOU can do it - get started as soon as you read this post...get up and walk 100 steps and get a drink of water and then walk back and take your vitamins for another 100 steps and eat some good protein today! Hugs to all...Barbara

I have learned that it takes 3500 calories burned to lose a pound of weight. The problem is that we have to burn that many more calories then we consume. So the next time you have to make a food choice try to think about if it is worth the effort it will take to burn the food you are about to consume. Sometimes, it is. We make choices everyday. What really maters is the end result. If we make the right choices more often then the poor choices we should end up where we want to be. There have been times when I have walked three miles and then got home and had a few cookies. Was that the right thing to do? Probably not, but I may have had the cookies anyway and at least I expended the effort needed to counterbalance the calories I was about to consume. I don't have a problem with treating myself as long as I realize it is just that "a treat". I can't do it everyday or I won't realize the goals that I have set for myself. Everything is a trade off, just realize what you are gaining and what you are giving away.
Do I always make the right choice? No. Do I always pay for it in one way or another? You betcha. But, hey we gotta live.
So what about you are the choices you are going to make today the right ones for you?
Life is great, Rick
