Well its Saturday afternoon and a perfect weekend here in New England. I'm feeling a lot better than I have over the past 3 days, (still not 100% but much better) and theres no way I can let the weekend past while laying in bed. This could be our last 70s weekend here so its time to get out and enjoy it I woke up around 9 and went to the grocery store on foot, its not far from bf's house, maybe a mile each way. Came back, rested then went for a second walk with BF's mom around lunch. Rested again and went out with BF for a nice walk along the charles river (I bet I'll sleep like a baby tonight!! ). Taking it easy for the rest of the night, Red Sox play tonight, UFC after the game and Patriots at 1 tomorrow. Hopefully we can get a walk in before the game and after tomorrow! Food choices haven't been the best today. Just no umph to eat.. I made a big container of chicken stock yesterday (during the very few hours while I was awake) and am going to make yummy matzo ball soup which I'm sure will make me better in no time! I don't know whats in those things, but they're a cure for the sick I tell ya! heres my day so far woke up - IsoFruit Cantaloupe protein shake breakfast - 1 1/2 protein muffins lunch - slice of thin crust spinach, mushroom, garlic pizza snack - pear medium sf butterscotch iced coffee, x-smart milk (back to coffee, you can tell I'm getting better ) dinner - matzo ball soup IsoFruit Cantaloupe protein shake again snack - not sure, but I'm sure there will be something vitamins - only multi in so far.. will work on the rest water - 3 - 16oz bottles exercise - 3 walks hows everyones weekend going? hope you're out there pushing for those miles to help us get to Rebeka's house!!

Hey there guys. Sorry Im MiA, I have been down with an extended flu bug that really kicked my rear. I have no sickness in last couple years and this was somewhat overwhelming how bad my body ached. Im feeling more like old self again but have few miles to report last week and the current week are less as well. Ill report both weeks on Monday and have a good large goal to end the last 10 days of the month. Hope everyone is doing well and you can expect ot see me daily again as my body and my energy have both gotten back to workable status. bigoletriguy e

Awwww! I hope you feel better real soon! my dd (3 yo) had a horrible virus thing all week and has had a fever of 103/104 for days. Stinks! I haven't slept all week! I heard the flu is pretty bad this year...but they say that every year don't they? Have you found meds that work for you post op? Last year, I found the liquid Tylenol Flu worked fast and great for me! Is it bad that your sick day sounds like heaven to me? A whole day of laying around in jammies and being sick sounds like vacation to me. Sorry, I'm warped from being a stay home mom! Ran around all day today.... B: protein coffee L: protein bar D: Way too much tuna sushi--10 pieces! I was starved, it was delicious! S: 4 more pieces sushi vits done exer no water only 50oz today!

Barbara, I look at this a different way. I still have the advantage of tasting the food and savoring it, but it takes much less for me to feel satisfied. After I first had the surgery, I thought I wish I didn't have to eat food. It would have been so much easier. That changed. I enjoy food again. I just don't eat the quanity that I used to. I still have head issues. There are times when my head really wants one more bite of this or that but my stomach wouldn't tolerate it. I also think that now I take the time to really taste the food. Thank you for your post. Have a great weekend, Rick

Topic: MARCHers going to goal!
The fast pace of our lives makes it difficult for us to find grace in the present moment, and when the simple gifts at our fingertips cease to nourish us, we have a tendency to crave the sensational......Macrina Wiederkehr I am going to try to make this quote into something I was thinking about. Don't you wonder/wish that when they had done our WLS they had also taken the sense of taste from our tongues? My thinking is this - we MARCHers going to goal and those trying to maintain....don't you wish sometimes you didn't taste - thus desire? To relate this to my quote - perhaps it wasn't simple, but our gift of a tool (pouch) gave us the means by which not to eat so much. And since our fingertips could only bring us so much food - thereby ceasing to nourish us quite so abundantly to cause drastic weight loss.....perhaps now in our journey we crave the sensational...the bad carbs again, the grazing tendancies. I know it sounds like I have gone around the block in relating this quote to my desire to have my tastebuds taken away!!!! But you know - we can taste and we can taste "good" which may be a problem with our not getting to goal. For so long we used food I suspect as a comfort for many different things - it tasted GOOD and therefore we over indulged. Sometimes at this struggle to get to goal I wish a 2nd part of this surgery would be to take your taste buds out so you only ate to live not live to eat? Anybody ever think this way?!!!! So for the weekend - since we do still have our tastebuds....please make the good choices with food - protein first, first, first. Drink your water, take your vitamins, and please walk on our journey across America so we have good mileage reports on Monday! Have a fun weekend MARCHers - hugs to all....Barbara
