I'm victim to your "if I don't take my vitamins today, well, I will get them in tomorrow" routine...
I can't tell you how greatful I am to you for suggesting the calcium in the morning! I wasn't getting them in mainly because I would run out of time. I would take my morning ones (multi and bcomplex) but would forget about my afternoon and evening calciums. By taking calcium before leaving the house, I know I have 1 dose in, I take my multi and b after breakfast and my second calcium after lunch.. waaa laaa they're in!
I started paper journaling my foods to see how my food patterns are and I made check boxes for my vitamins. Its helped me fix my pattern of no-vitamins!
thanks again for your suggestion surgery buddy

Topic: RE: Random acts of kindness.
every morning, my random act of kindness (and mind you I'm the furtherst from being a morning person lol) is letting someone go before me at the highway junction. two main highways merge and for years I drove this rte and saw how mean people are by cutting people off.. simply uncalled for! so I started letting a person go infront of me (they're coming off 1 highway to get to the one I'm exiting).
After reading your post, I did another RAK... Theres a parallized student who takes an art class in my building. She comes across the street in her manual wheelchair with her big art portfolio, which is hard to carry at the same time. I saw her crossing the street so I met her at the driveway and brought her portfolio to her class. Shes a sweet girl and days when she needs help with it, she asks (I think she wants to ask more often, but doesn't). She stopped by my desk after class and said thank you so much for helping me this morning. I asked her if she wanted me to bring it back to the other building and hesitantly she said.... um... no thats ok... I said really, let me bring it for you, I took it out of her hands and brought it to the other buildling for her.
Thanks for posting this Rick, we all get wrapped up in our lives and forget to do small things that make someones day

Lauren,
Its good to "see" you back here for a visit
Reading everyones posts makes me truly proud to be a Marcher! I honestly can say I feel (for myself at least) that our active message board (even 18 months after surgery) has helped keep me focused, motivated, honest with myself on food choices and informed of my surgery friends progressions! We have all done amazingly well! Some days I venture to other message boards on OH and see months have passed since someone posted last. We've been here for each other daily, weekly, monthly and/or whenever our busy life allows time for us to check in, always welcomed with open arms!
Heres my progress
height - 5' 2.5" (that 1/2" means everything when you're short )
starting weight - 261
surgery weight - 250
current weight - 125
starting sizes - 26/28 shirt and 22 pants
current sizes - m/l shirt (depending how the belly flab looks), 6 pants (4 @ old navy but I think its because they run big)
way to go Marchers!!

Ruth Ann,
You have done so well. I wish you felt better about yourself. You havd always been such an inspiration to me.
Yesterday Barbara's post talked about rainbows. I think we all are trying to chase a rainbow and we just can't quite get there. Sometimes we just need to be happy with the end of the rainbow being nearby. We still get to enjoy the awesome beauty. We just don't seem to get to what we think is the pot of gold.
I hope you have a bright and rainbow filled day.
Rick

Topic: RE: Halloween?
There are halloween parties all around! I was always on the fence about going because I didn't want to find a costume 1. I could fit in and 2. not look hidious in! This year I'm trying to convince bf that we should go as a cave woman and a cave man.. Don't think the idea is flying, but I'll keep you posted!
