Topic: MARCHers going to goal!
People become really quite remarkable when they start thinking that they can do things. When they believe in themselves they have the first secret of success....Norman Vincent Peale
We MARCHers are quite remarkable. How many people do you personally know that took the step we took 19 months ago when we chose WLS? We believed in ourselves and that was the first secret of our success.
We still believe in ourselves and we still believe we are going to get to goal - or at least so close you can call it goal!!! Remember today just how remarkable YOU are - remember what you have done to improve your health and longevity. Continue to believe throughout today and all the tomorrows that you can do the right things, you can make the right choices and YOU WILL GET TO GOAL!!!!!
Follow our 4 golden rules today and make it a quite remarkable day and remember you are quite a remarkable person! What will you do today to continue to KNOW you will get to goal? Hugs to all....Barbara

How about FALL Resolutions? (After 9 months of not keeping the ones from New Year's)
Give up complaining . . . focus on gratitude. Give up harsh judgments . . . think kind thoughts. Give up worry . . . trust divine providence. Give up discouragement . . . be full of hope. Give up bitterness . . . turn to forgiveness. Give up hatred . . . return good for evil. Give up anger . . . practice patience. Give up pettiness . . . put on maturity. Give up gloom. . . enjoy the beauty that is around you. Give up jealousy . . . pray for trust. Give up gossiping . . . control your tongue. Give up sin. . . . turn to virtue.
Have a great weekend, I'm off to the ocean.
Life is great, Rick

It took me all day, but I got my chance towards the end of my last walk of the day. A neighbor was asking about cleaning leaves off of her roof. I walked the rest of the way home and got my leaf blower and went back and finished the job for her. I let her know how much I appreciated her letting me do this for me. She had a hard time accepting it, but it sure made me feel better.
Thank you all for your kindness to those around you.
Rick.

I havn't posted about here. I am mostly a lurker with a smattering of posts.
I have pics on my profile if you want to take a peak. 10 days post-op
This procedure was not nearly has painful as I imagined. I think it may have been easier than the RNY. Most likely because I am in much better shape now. I only took pain meds until the drains came out about 8 days. I had made up my mind that I would do it no matter what and really got nervous leading up to it. My back hurt from being hunched over. I slept in a recliner for 10 days.
The PS removed 11.5 pounds from my middle. There was just no way to hide that. On a bad day, I feel normal for the first time in about 20 years. On a good day, I feel hot for the first time ever.. Didn't know what I had in my youth.

Jannine,
You have raised a sweet and caring daughter by setting a good example. Your church and pastor are lucky to have you in "their flock".
Have a great day, Rick

Thanks for letting us know where we are.....
I'm always up for shopping, whether it be window shopping or buying shopping. For a little town they sure have lots of parks... While we're in Chicago, anyone want to see if we can get tickets to the Oprah show? I should look to see what stage productions are playing now......
I am also praying for all those SoCal people....our news said this morning that more than 1500 (yes, that many) homes have been destroyed in the San Diego area. I can only imagine the devistation!!!
They are also reporting about all the displaced wildlife now that so much open land has burned. These fires are just upsetting the whole ecological balance thing now.
The news has said a couple of the Los Angeles area fires were arson fires.... I can only hope these madpersons are caught and get the help they need!!!

I'm not much of a shopper, but I sure wouldn't mind seeing the sites. I hear it can get a bit windy there. I better bundle up.
