That must be a chamber of commerce photo. I don't think it's 93 degrees there today.
Oh well, still a nice town for a walk.
Thanks for keeping track of us.
Have a great day, Rick

I can't wait to go home for a nap!! I've been thinking about it all day long lol
we're going to see an independant film on high fructose corn syrup later tonight with friends. I'm slowly getting BF to see how bad all these nutritients are and how even breads have high fructose corn syrup in it. That maddens me! No wonder why so many people are obese, look at the foods we eat, even the "healthy" ones aren't really good for you. Should be an intersting movie.. Dinner will be late but at Fire and Ice (you pick the stir fry ingredients and they fire it up infront of you on a hibachi)
I love that place! you can pick great veggies and add ins, but stay healthy!
my day hasn't been great but here it is
drive to work - iso fruit cantaloupe protein shake
medium hot coffee, x-smart milk, sf caramel (didn't need the caffeine really, just the hot beverage, note to self, bring in the sf hot apple cider packets
)
breakfast - 1 cup barilla plus penne with 1/2 c. meat sauce
lunch - weight control cinnamon oatmeal, 2/3c smart milk, 1 T peanut butter
dinner - stir fry veggies with chicken, lo mein noodles and peanut sauce
vitamins - took them
exercise - long walk to dunkins, walk at lunch
water - hasn't been great, only 1 - 22oz glass so far..
have a good weekend everyone
ps- I haven't forgotten about posts from the re-treat, maybe I'll fit that in this weekend!

did you see the picture of how flat the place is?? lol great for walking
well we hooked up the treadmills last night and used them
this one has so much more cushion than the old one, I want to start running so last night I did 3 - 60 second bursts in a 20 minute walk with an incline. hopefully I can keep increasing that and add to my weekly miles to get to cali
enjoy the weekend, stay warm!

You are walking faster than me, but because Kearney is so flat - I can still see you at the end of town...even though I am at the beginning of the town!!! What a fun place to stop for a visit. We have to get busy if we are going to get to CA before the snow hits the passes between Nebraska and CA!!!!!
Thanks surgerybuddy for doing this - it really makes it fun! You are great! Barbara

New weekend, new destination, we've made it to Kearney Nebraska

An enjoyable area to stop in before our next walk,
one of the largest businesses here is Buckle Inc (a retail family clothing store).
Kyle Larson of the Cincinnati Bengals was born here in the city of over 27,000 people.
heres a link to their chamber of commerce,

This looks like a fun place to stop, the area is called "the bricks", its their historic district, lots to see and fun local shops to visit.

Hi Karen,
I'm sure your new way of eating will take some adjustment, but I know you'll get it. Keep on eye them, but I think the little binges will work themselves out once you regulate your new schedule. As long as you are aware and watching out for the behavior you'll be able to stay in control!
I ate everything today!!!
My folks are coming in for the holidays, the arrive tonight and we're having a brunch tmw and a BBQ on Sun. so I cooked ALL day and cleaned so all I did was nibble nibble nibble. Oy! Oh well, today is another day--and my house is clean thumbsup:
I hope you feel better and have a good wkend.
Topic: I am thankful for a renewed hope
Before I had this surgery I really felt that my life was somewhat hopeless. I felt that if I didn't make drastic changes my life would have been over in less then 5 years. The quality of my life has improved beyond measure. I can make plans for my future because I now know that I will have one. It is so nice to live a life with fewer limitations. I can shop in a normal size clothing store. I can feel like I can go out in public and not have disparaging comments directed towards me. I can walk miles with out sweating and huffing and puffing. I feel that if I can dream it, I can do it.
I am so thankful that we had the courage to go down this road and I am very grateful that we have not had to do it alone.
Life is great because I have hope.
Rick

Topic: WDYET?? *** THURSDAY ***
ok Rick's support post got me motivated enough to do this today! As I posted to his message I thought to myself, the menu post is here for everyone and even if I'm having a bad week, everyone else who is helped by posting or looking at the WDYET post should get to...
My week has been blah.. Monday we were off (holiday) so I didn't eat on schedule which threw my new found issue into a tail spin.. Tuesday I was still feeling the after effects of Monday and yesterday I was in a 4 hour meeting and missed breakfast which again caused another crash.. Today I tried to get it together, but had to help with police academy graduation, another late breakfast, another crash
its cold, rainy and I just wanna go home, put my jammies on and cuddle up under the covers with a good book!! Feeling this way is miserable, but again, I'm trying to remain positive since some people still aren't diagnosed properly and deal with these feelings or symptoms all the time. Atleast I'm getting to understand that I need to eat every 3 hours and eat the right foods. The scary part of it all is I'm starting to bindge.. I've kept a paper journal since this mess started and since Monday I've picked at something every 2 hours... probably because I didnt eat on a regular schedule?
I see my nutritionist on Monday, let her figure it out
ok enough of the "pitty party" as Rebeka says...
I went to the library yesterday and found something worth checking out! They have these cool little gadgets called "playaway". Its small like a deck of cards and has an audio book on it. no downloads to your ipod, no paying for an audiobook online, no big cds that skip during a fast paced walk.. Pretty neat! I borrowed "Wicked" and love it! this is what they look like http://store.playawaydigital.com/
theres tons of book titles including exercise, inspirational, fiction and nonfiction books. I listened to 4 chapters yesterday during my afternoon walk and am making myself listen to it only during my walk so I get out there an add miles to my week
so heres my day so far...
drive to work - protein shake iso fruit cantaloupe
medium sf caramel iced coffee, x-smart milk
late breakfast - almost a whole great grains bagel w/ 2 tablespoons protein peanut butter
started to crash, had orange juice diluted with water
lunch - 1 c. barilla plus penne with 1/3 cup meat sauce
dinner - grilled chicken and yuca
snack - banana with 2 T. peanut butter..
vitamins - all in
water - lots of it today
exercise - too rainy, just a quick jaunt to dunkins..
hows your day going? let us know!

Our motivation to keep going, our fight to shed those pounds, inspiration from other members, its all here within our march group!
