Fired after WLS!! anyone heard of this?
I always try and share on both the main boards and this one so here goes.
I go back to work on yesterday after having wls and being out on disability. What I returned to was a meeting of two managers, a union rep and me. I was told that 30 days in a row was excessive. I was also told that this along with taking a few days (2) off to help my family during hurricane Katrina ( by the way my manager OK'd this but I did not have it in writing) My brother was missing and my Mom's brother died during this. I did not take funeral leave because I did not know when we would be able to go to the funeral. Can you believe they used this against me? I have not been with the company for a year so they said I was suppose to have fmla & disability. Has this happened to anyone else?
A union rep wants me to file a grievance. I am not sure I would want to work for a company that would do this. Should I?
