3rd Week / Want Tuna Salad
OMG...I was just reading your blog and see that you have an obsession with Food Network, too. I used to occasionally watch the Challenges and Unwrapped...but post-op I've been obesessed with Rachel Ray and everything else. It's like, I enjoy watching them make food and i'm enjoying watching them eat it.
How sad is that? It's almost like me making cookies for the kids just so I could smell them!

Tisha, I eat tuna salad EVERYDAY for lunch! It's such great bang for the protein buck. I've been eating it for a few weeks now and have never pureed it. I just mix it with a little light mayo and add a sprinkle or two of celery salt and onion powder. This makes it taste more like tuna salad but without the "difficult to digest" celery and/or onion. I wouldn't worry about mashing it at all. Just take small bites at first and know that you won't be able to eat a ton of it at once. It's so yummy and so good for you too!
Good luck and enjoy!

I don't know how I could miss the best part. I absolutely put a boiled egg in my tuna salad. It's so good with the egg AND I get more protein that way! I'm so glad you tried it and enjoyed it. Tuna salad has really been my everyday staple food for a couple of weeks now. I also do the same thing with the canned chicken and canned turkey but find that to be drier. Typically, I add more mayo if I use those. Also, tuna has more protein per serving than canned chicken or turkey.
It's so wonderful to be able to eat REAL food again!
Happy Easter, Stephanie
P.S. I'm so jealous of you web geek-ettes! I can't even get my pictures to be the right size when using photo bucket. I hope the new version of OH allows us to do things in an easier way!
I thought of trying it with the canned chicken in a week or so, too, but I've read so many posts of people saying that it's dry that I'm too scared to even try. lol
It IS wonderful to actually chew something. I don't think my mouth knew what to do with itself!
Happ Easter to you, too! Here's the easter bunny for you: http://pics.tishagarcia.com/mrlola/mrlola_grass_small.jpg
His name is Mr. Lola and he's the love of my life! I told my husband I was going to wrap a bow around his head and call him the Easter Bunny. My husband says he was going to wrap him up in Celery and carrots and call him Easter Stew!

Oh my gosh! Mr. Lola is soooo cute. I'm sure you'll protect him from becoming supper! Just tell your husband that rabbit probably wouldn't sit too well on your pouch. We had a bunny when I was younger. He was a black and white dwarf rabbit and his name was Catnip. He was such fun and loved to sit in your lap. It's definitely a different Easter this year without a chocolate bunny in my basket. But oh well. I'll take continued weight loss over any chocolate bunny.
Have a great day!
