March 29th!

Woo-hoo Angie!! Doesn't it feel great to have a date?! Now you will have more emotions than ever while you are in the waiting phase! My date is March 21st. I remember thinking it was such a long time away--now it's 10 days away and I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row before I begin my new life! Good luck and God bless! Tamara

Hey there Tamara! Congrats on your date too!!! I know what you mean about emotions setting in. They especially set in when people you know question why you are doing this.. you dont really need to do this, etc, etc, etc. but I KNOW I need to do this..because I can't lose AND keep the weight off... and it's the keeping the weight off that is the hard part. Are you taking any time off of work before your surgery or are you starting you time off on the day of surgery? Angie

Well.....I'm having surgery on a Tuesday, and the only day I'm taking off is the Monday before--actually I have to go to school from 5 pm to 8 pm on Monday night--so it's like 1/2 day off! It's better for me to stay busy up until the last minute, otherwise I turn into a rationalizing neurotic! It drives my husband crazy! (He's who I learned it from!!) I know what you mean about people question why you are doing this. I am a nurse and my sister is a nurse. She doesn't agree with me having this surgery. It's hard for my parents because they are torn between what they want to support . I have done my research for over 2 years and I know there are more pro's than con's--I have made an informed decision for my life. I am so excited! I have no doubts. I look forward to progressing on this journey with you! Tamara

Howdy fellow March 29th'er! (I doubt that's a proper way of saying it but it sounded cool at the time. lol) I'm here in not-so-sunny california getting ready to start my weight loss tomorrow. I'm sure my doctor is going to be not so happy with me this week when I weigh in 10 pounds more than the last time I saw her in January. :sigh: There's a REASON this WLS is so important to me...gaining 10 pounds every few months is one of them. Anywho, keep in touch...! ~Tisha

Hey there Tisha! Congratuations on your March 29th date! I'm sure you are excited about it. I know what you mean about gaining weight. It has been tough for me to get out of the "last supper" mindset. Like I'm never going to see food again and eat anything that doesnt move! Fortunately enough I am getting a grip on that and will hopefully maintain the 10 lb's I lost and that is required by my surgeon. No lose 10 lbs? No get lapband surgery!! grrrrrr BTW, took a glance at your profile..your kids are so cute and so are you! Also saw that you went to an Oprah "after Oscars" party??!!! How was it???? 17 more days! Hi Angie - The Oprah After Oscars Party was her show taping here in Hollywood at the Kodak Theater. Last year's show was more entertaining, I felt, but I loved seeing Reese Witherspoon. She's too cute! The show aired last Monday - you can't see us at all - but we were all dressed up and cute. I'm not allowed to post the pic of my buddy and I because she isn't in "full makeup" and looks like a racoon. She would KILL me if I posted it. lol We weren't allowed to take any cams into the theater, as a matter of fact - they escorted you to your car and watched you put it in your car if you so much as thought of bringing in your camera, phone, blackberry...anything. Thank you for the pic comments. The kids love taking pics - and so do I. lol I'm sure I'll be quite the camera ***** once all is said and done, too. Keep in touch - ~Tisha

Hi Angie, I'm also 3/29! Whohoo!! I can't wait. Tomorrow I go get some pre-op testing done, they said it would be around 3 hours. I'm taking all day off! Yea! Good luck and keep in touch. Patrice
