Getting your body in Top Shape for wls
Hi everyone,
I would like some suggestion on things to do for getting my body in top shape for surgery. Currently I do not have my date yet, but it will be sometime in April or May. Please share some suggestions on how to build up my immune system, colon health...etc to help with surgery and speed up my recovery time. I have a grapefruit with breakfast, I am taking flaxseed and my multivitamin everyday. I also intend to up my protein intake by starting to eat more fish. Any advice or suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
The dietician at my program had me start practicing good after-surgery eating habits: no liquid with meals, chew well, 3 meals a day - no snacks, supplemental protein drink 3x day, multivitamin, drink lots of water. I have also been exercising 4-5 times/week as well. I think it has been very beneficial, since I'm setting up good habits now so life after surgery will be easier.
