I'm 30yrs old,4ft 10, and weigh 231.5. I have kaiser ins. now but I'm switching to aetna choice pos II in Jan. I 've selected Dr.Wes Powell to be my surgeon ,a friend of mine reccomended him .So do y'all think i have a shot or what.

I really do think you have a shot. A friend of mine a few years ago had the bypass was 1" taller and 5 lbs heavier and she got approved. The higher the B.M.I. the better it is to get approved if B.M.I. is less than 35 it is harder to get approved unless a person has 1 or more comorbidities. I am waiting for an approval as well. My B.M.I. is 35.6 but I have sleep apnea which is a plus for me. I also wake up every morning with back ache. My knees hurt, but more so my left leg where I carry most of my wight when I stand still. My other friend, which is sister to the one who had surgery few years ago had hers yesterday. She did fine. Keep praying and your wish will come true. Good luck to you.
