Mimi, That's one of the best things about a buffet is the great variety of foods. My wife and I went to a Chinese buffet this week and that's what prompted by question. The owner was concerned when I pushed my plate away after only partially filling it up one time. I left satisfied and not overstuffed. It felt great. I try to stay away from the orange and coconut chicken, it just seems to sweet to me also. Hage a great weekend, Rick

The only buffets I am willing to go to are chinese. Other buffets I tend to overeat despite my best intentions. I find the food at a non buffet restruant to be better quality. I would much rather have my yummy left overs for lunch in the coming days. My favorite chinese restruant prepares my favorite dish the way I like it and brings it to me without the rice. There is a new place close to me where I can get a steak sandwich minus the bun for 7 dollars or a normal size steak for 15. I don't feel deprived with sandwich size steak and usually still have the left overs. This is a small town place with a real chef/owner. He always tries hard to accomadate my diet. Belinda

I have to say im with Rebeka on this one.. I've been to more than 2 buffets, but feel I need to "fill up" or finish my plate just because its there. It took a while for me to say this about myself, but I had this surgery because obviously I had no self control when it came to eating. I could have limited my portions pre-op and maybe I wouldn't have been in the situation I ended up in, but I didn't. I enjoyed eating and did it just because I was bored, there was food around, its "dinner time" and you're suppose to eat, all the drive throughs I would pass going home.. the excuse list is endless. I would say my worst buffet experiences post-op have been at Foxwoods casino the buffet is HUGE and set us as a food court with little restaurants, you walk over and help yourself... well both times I've been there I helped myself to too much and felt which is no fun at all when you're there with people! AND I love your thoughts on buffet discounts for post-ops it is so true!! there was never a "your obese and will eat twice the amount of food as a normal person" charge so why are we entitled now?? Its interesting to watch this post on the main forum when its brought up, theres so many mixed emotions about this topic some people are offended post-ops would ask for a discount others are offended restaurants don't offer a discount and so on and so forth..

Thanks for your input. I think we have all had or still have issues with self control as far as food is concerned. Rick
