Another Update

Hey everyone! Boy, there is a lot I need to catch up on. Thanks so much for the responses to my other post. I haven't had the time or energy to sit at the computer to reply to each one but I do appreciate you all writing. I am doing really well. I got my last two drains out this week. YAY!!! Those things are a pain. I am still lacking energy and that can be really depressing but I am sure that will improve with time. I have been cleared to get back to cardio workouts, the eliptical, walking, bike etc. But no weight lifting or abs workouts for another 6 weeks. That is quite understandable. I don't want to do any damage while things on the inside continue to heal. I went yesterday and tried on jeans. It wasn't a good day. I think that I am just still a bit swollen. I did find some cute capris in a size 12. I am going to be a size 12/14 which is okay. I weigh 152 now and that is amazing to me. I am thrilled with my weight so I need to just accept that I will always have big thighs which will keep me out of a size 10 and some 12's. That's okay. I feel that my body looks much better and is definitely much more in proportion. I am truly happy where I am at and plan to maintain where I am. I do not plan on losing more weight since I feel so good now. I lost 3 inches in my hips, two inches in my waist and 1 inch in my thighs. That's pretty good from were I sit. I'll go back to work on Tuesday. I am a bit concerned that I won't have the stamina to get through the long days. But my supervisor has already said that if I have to work half days that is fine with her. She is great and I know she will be supportive of me taking my time getting back to full time hours slowly. Who knows, maybe getting back to my work routine will help me bounce back to my usually energetic self. Take care. I'll catch up on everyone's posts soon. Hugs, Robin

Robin, I am so glad to hear from you and see that other than being a bit tired, you seem to be doing great. And WOW - to be going back to work on Tuesday....that is remarkable. You take it easy and go home if you need to early. From what I see (on BIG MEDICINE on TLC) I think the plastic surgery is more painful than our WLS. I cruised through the WLS and never took pain medicine after they unhooked the morphine drip in the hospital, but I sure don't think that would be the case with the plastic surgery - I hope it wasn't as painful for you as it looks like it surely must be. You take care and enjoy the long holiday weekend....many hugs to you. Barbara

Robin, I'm so glad that you are doing well!!! Continue to take good care of yourself. A weight of 152 is amazing. WOW! I'm also glad that you're happy with your plastics thus far. It will continue to get better and I'm sure your energy will soon return. I have my consult next Tuesday and hope to receive good news! Healing hugs, Stephanie

Robin- Congrats on getting the plastics done Yeah, I hear plastics are a LOT MORE pain than our WLS... so this is a great hurdle to overcome I will be waiting patiently for some before/after pics *hugs* Bec
