So how was everyones weekend???? Weird things happening here in The Valley of the Sun (Phoenix AZ Metro Area)... It snowed yesterday!!!!!!!!!! Weird Weird, this is something that does not happen often... I think the last time it snowed down in the valley, Hubby was a teenager, so like 20 years ago? It snows in the mountains of Arizona all the time... but not down here.... its unheard of.... well last night around 6pm a storm rolled in with rain, it was about 32F, and yes it snowed!! Not for long, it of course didn't stick... but wow what fun!!! This morning I had to get rid of the ice on my car before I could drive! The weekend was fun, we went Quail hunting and exploring in the desert Saturday, Hubby shot 2 quail. I made the coolest cake for my neices birthday Sunday-- I'll post pictures within the next few days! It turned out very cool! I had a HORRIBLE water weekend, Im probably dehydrated right now so Im trying to focus on water. Anyway I hope everyone is well! Darlene 338/186/170

Yay snow!! I think it's the most beautiful time of the year. Your desert adventures sound like so much fun! I wish there was more to Indiana than farmland. This weekend was so much fun! First, on Saturday my little boy had his first basketball game. It made me weepy because since he was about 1 year old we thought that he was autistic. No interaction with other people, no looking into eyes, very little speaking, almost literally in his own world. Saturday I saw all of our hard work, blood, sweat and tears pay off as he talked to his teammates and communicated with them to play this game. He just amazes me every day at how far he's come and I feel so blessed to be with him every day. Sometimes he'd get excited seeing the running around and would stamp his feet/flap his hands but that was the only way to tell that he wasn't just like all of those other kids out there. HUGE payback to see him interacting with other kids. Then yesterday we walked down the the high school near our house and sledded down their hills. I was able to pull them all the way there on the sled (140 lbs of combined weight) and once there, sled with them, run around a *lot*, pull them around obstacle courses on the sled and have a snowball fight. After we walked home, I wasn't tired at all and still could have run around some more! Shocking to me because just a year ago I had no idea how I would walk my son to the bus stop 1/2 of a block away and still be able to make it back home again. Again, life is good.

weekend wasn't very eventful, having carpet installed in one of the bedrooms so we had to rip the old carpet out... what a work out!! sat around mostly yesterday and watched football with bf and friends. great game last night, but they were all the Patriots lost... I like football, but dont have a "team" perse.. Baseball is another story! Cant wait for the season to start!! They showed the Arizona snow on the news! We had a dusting yesterday and are expecting little squals for most of the week.. Its unbelievable we haven't had a storm as of yet. Usually by now we've had atleast one, but it works for me! Im not a fan of the cold! what did you guys do with the quail?

Hubby skinned, de-feathered and gutted them etc (The dogs LOVED him, they got Quail guts ewww)... The breasts are in the fridge, last time Hubby cooked it in a pan with some onion, garlic and seasonings-- it was good. He is home today so Im sure he will eat the two little peices of quail for lunch.

mine was uneventful. it snowed here sunday morning. we got about 4 inches. the sad thing is I live in freaking Ohio it snows all the time but they have yet to figure out how to clean off the roads timely. I can tell my drive to work is not going to be any fun in the a.m. the snow that is melting is re-freezing on the steets and I have yet to see one salt truck this evening. Yeah the Colts WON----sorry Stylz--born and raised in Indy.

Hello surgery twin, I was through your neck of the woods last weekend. Four of my brothers and I went to visit my mom in Benson, AZ. It is about 45 miles east of Tucson. I had pictured Arizona to be so different. We went to the Chiricahua (sp?) National Monument on Saturday and the road was closed due to snow. It was a strange day. I didn't think I would be able to say I built a snowman in Arizona, but we did. I see from your weight at the bottom of your post that you are still doing great. I am down to 191 and 5 pounds to my goal. It's good to be back in California where it's 37 degrees. Yep, snows here too. Life is good, Rick
