Sizes...grrrr
Ok, so pre-surgery my goal size was a pair of size 12 Jeans. Since surgery Ive been buying cheap Walmart jeans, when Im stable I will splurge on a few nice pairs. Anyway... my size 14 jeans are swimming on me, too loose in the leg, the waist etc.. I figured I'd buy a new pair of jeans... my goal size jeans (Then I'll see if I can surpass that goal).
Anyway I pick a pair of size 12 jeans, the same brand/kind. I didn't even try them on cause my 14's are so loose.
I go home, try them on and they are way too tight??? What the???? 14's are way too big, why are the 12's too tight? At first I looked to see if maybe they had been mislabled, but as far as I can tell they are 12's... It totally bummed me out *sigh*.... and what size am i supposed to wear to get a nice fit right now????
It's ticking me off!
I feel for you Darlene...the same thing happen to me ...I went to Walmart to get some jeans because the 18's I was wearing were swimming and the day before I bought a pair of 14-16's and they fit perfect...so I went to grab some at walmart and got a 16 and a 14 just because they were clearenced and my favorite color...only 7 dollars..wahoo....anyway I didn't try them on either and when I got home I did and I could not even get them past the extra skin...so they are in the closet awaiting the day they fit...it is frustrating...maybe the ones you bought were from the juniors dept...not sure if that is where you get your clothes but I do know that a juniors 14-16 is different than misses or even womens...What has been getting me frustrated is going into the misses and juniors and seeing sizes 15-17, 11-13, 9-11 5-7 now I am totally confused....lol...hang in there...maybe you can bring them to the Walmart you bought them too just to see if the Customer Service person can find out what department they are from....
Keep the faith and try to have a good night...
Love

theyre probaly just mislabeled. that happened to me when I was still an 18 at lane bryant. I bought a pair of 14 jeans and they were so tight! I matched them up to a gap size 12 and they were still smaller than that! maybe bring them back, try on a 12 and get the pair that fit or take the ones you have, match them to 12's in the store to see if they're actually made wrong?
Darlene.....Walmart brand clothes run smaller. To make yourself feel better, go and try on some higher quality name brand pants and you will most likely fit into a size 12!!!! GO DO IT, you will feel better. Im into a size 10 jean now, but at walmart I have to wear a 14....YES, thats a two size difference. Needless to say I dont like buying from Walmart!!
I completely agree -- Walmart sizes run very small. Target does too, but not as small as Walmart. In "normal" stores (i.e. not discount) like Old Navy, Gap, Macy's etc I am in a size 12, sometimes 14. In Walmart? Usually a 16 in jeans and a freakin' 18 in dress pants! That is crazy! Plus, I am convinced that Walmart is not all that cheap when it comes to clothes. I have been able to buy jeans, pants, etc a lot cheaper at Old Navy most of the time. I just shop their clearance racks. Right now they have (or did on Monday when I was there) an extra 50% off all their clearance. I picked up a pair of dress pants for $5 and a pair of jeans for $7. Try it out. Just like the other ladies on the board I agree that the size was probably wrong or else they are just typical walmart pants!
You may also want to try thrift stores or consignment stores in your area too. Now that I am in smaller sizes I can fit into a LOT of stuff at thrift stores. I only go on the days when they have 50% off their prices or goodwill around here does 1 color of tag for $1.29 on Tuesdays. Its the only way I have been able to keep buying new clothes!
Good luck!
I know! It really depends on where you shop and what label! it ****** me off!
My jeans are a 10 (Kohl's--Sonoma) but I just tried on some Gap (I hate the Gap anyway, they always run small,) jeans the other day and the 12's were a little tight!!! GRRRR. And I won't go backwards and buy a bigger size now--even if the fit.
It bugs me b/c I still don't feel the WL will be "real" until I'm a consistent size everywhere. My tops for instance--I have some M's, L's and yet the other day--still had to buy an XL someplace. BUGS ME! Until I"m consistently wearing a M in most stores I won't really feel the "Wow". I know...it's messed up.
