Vacation ruined me!
I went NINE months of being the best WLS patient any doctor could ever ask for. THEN the trip to England for the holidays happened. I ate and I ate.....and all the wrong stuff ofcourse. Dont know what came over me. English chocolate is so damm good, and the bread and the biscuits (cookies) and the cheese and the crisps (potato chips) and the PUBS!!! I did do alot of walking but for the first time since surgery I ate when I wasnt even hungry. I hadnt done that at home. We got home last night and Im gonna weight a few days to get on the scale!! Im now really afraid that I wont get back into control. HELP
Girl, I've been to England--and I can TOTALLY understand! They've got some killer food! Don't even get me started on their puddings w/clotted cream! Ummmm!
Don't stress too much, if something was going to derail you, at least it was something wonderful like a vacation
You can get back on track! Just load your house up with the right foods, get back to exercising and jump right back in!
I just got this in an email today....I thought it applied....
In a study of volunteers who shed more than 20% of their body weight, researchers found that participants who got on the scale every day were 82% more likely than others to keep the weight off.
We had our holiday fun, forgot about 'protein first', skipped our protein shakes, ate too many carbs, ignored our vitamins, but it's January 9th and time to get on the scale. Don't be scared... you can do it!
Hang in there,
Rebeka
