What about Thanksgiving?
Well another "it's time to get to know each other" posts! If you want to play along, answer the questions below:
What state do we all live in?
Are you cooking for Thanksgiving?
How many people are you cooking for?
Where are you going for Thanksgiving if you are not cooking?
How do you plan on handling the Thanksgiving feast?
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving, filled with thanks for all we have been given since March and enjoy the day with our new tools! We might be the only people in the room not stuffed to the gills and falling asleep after dinner! Barbara
What state do we all live in? I live in New Hampshire for the past 5 years, but lived in Tennessee for 50 years before that!
Are you cooking for Thanksgiving? Yes - for my sister-in-law and hubby and son, step-daughter, her hubby and new grandson, my other step-daughter, my neighbors 2 doors down and their daughter, my neighbors across the street and her father. Stepson and wife are staying in Houston, my son and daughter-in-law and grandchildren are off to Atlanta, my daughter is off to TN to spend it with her father (she comes here for Christmas). Looks like 15 for dinner, but my neighbor 2 doors down is helping!
How do you plan on handling the Thanksgiving feast....I will fix all the traditional things everybody wants, but will only have a bite of turkey, a spoon of dressing and a small spoon of everything else, except anything with sugar! (Might make the Apple Crust recipe that Mama-of-3 posted a while back)
What state do we all live in? I live in Mass
Are you cooking for Thanksgiving? No...
How many people are you cooking for? Mom will be cooking for me, my hubby, my two kids, my sister, and her son and my dad...then maybe other family will show up for desserts.
Where are you going for Thanksgiving if you are not cooking? I am going to my mothers house she is doing the cooking for traditional Thanksgiving Dinner..I do the Christmas Dinner
How do you plan on handling the Thanksgiving feast? Mom will make everything traditionally but she just found out that she is diabetic so we will be making stuff sugar free...Mr Pouch likes turkey these days so I will probably have 5 oz of turkey and anything else after that will be bonus..Thanksgiving is a hard one thou...it is sort of like picking all day...with the nuts, fruit, then dinner then desserts...so I am gonna have be verrrry careful not to forget my new Tool...I am also considering the Apple Crisp that Mama-of-3 posted it looks so yummy...

Hi,
I live in Michigan.
I only cook a part of the Thanksgiving dinner to bring to my mothers house for 25 people.
I won't have a problem with Turkey. We always have fresh veggies and salad so I should be all set. So far I haven't had too many cravings for sweet things.
Thankfully.
I get full from the proteins and never want a dessert. I might just make the crustless pumpkin pie recipe I have from my old weigh****cher days. It calls for splenda and is quite tasty. At least it would be an option and those that want to go light can.
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday

What state do we all live in? CA
Are you cooking for Thanksgiving?
hopefully not. It's usually myself or MIL who does it. I'm going to try and get out of it this year since I did last year--I don't want all the leftovers going to waste in my house.
How many people are you cooking for?
small this year, about 6-8
Where are you going for Thanksgiving if you are not cooking? IL's--only 10 min. away! YAY
How do you plan on handling the Thanksgiving feast?
Think I'll just stick to turkey and some veg. T-day food has never been a big draw for me. I don't think it will be too big a problem.
Happy Fall Everyone!
This is a fun post! Thanks for starting this Barbara. Thanksgiving is my absolute FAVORITE holiday...more than Christmas. I think it's because it's the official start to the holiday season and I love all the events and activities that lead up to Christmas.
What state do we all live in? Arizona
Are you cooking for Thanksgiving? Yes, I always do.
How many people are you cooking for? Just hubby and I.
How do you plan on handling the Thanksgiving feast? I'm not too worried about it. I'm not liking food very much these days and it's a struggle to eat. Although, I LOVE the smell of Thanksgiving food cooking, that is why I cook every year. I'll try to eat some turkey, green beans, little bit of mashed potatoes and some stuffing.

Where are you going for Thanksgiving if you are not cooking? Aunts house in Mass
How do you plan on handling the Thanksgiving feast? I have to admit the holidays are making me a little nervous with all kinds of food being around (the first support group in Nov is about holiday eating incase you're interested in coming ) I think I'll bring a couple drinkable yogurts and string cheese sticks just incase I start eating things I shouldn't! I have no intentions to try anything with refined sugar (still haven't since surgery), but am a little afraid turkey will be too dry for me and adding gravy to it makes me nervous because of the amount of fat. My cousin makes the best sweet potatoes but theyre drenched in sugar, brown sugar and tons of butter so I'll stay away. I'll stick to veggies, maybe a little stuffing and hopefully a couple bites of turkey!
