How many calories a day, on average, do you get. My nutritionist told me only 400 a day and 50 to 60 grams of protein. Thanks Vicki

Huuuuh???? 400 a day at this point??? That sounds crazy! My protein is between 80-100. I'm supposed to get 80gm. Cal wise I eat 1000-1200/day. Funny thing is at my 6mo appt. my dr. told me not to count cals! He said measure your food, follow protocol, eat 4x a day and listen when your tool tells you you're full. He said it's about learning to use your tool and get used to living with it long term. I don't totally buy into that, I don't feel "safe" NOT counting cals, but there you have it. Honestly, I'd get a 2nd opinion, you NUT sounds like a NUT!

400 calories a day???????? Thats absurd!!!!!! I aim for 1000 a day.... I normally get somewhere in between 900-1100 calories a day.

My nut said between 800 -1000 calories a day with a total of 80 grams of protien. No more than 50 grams of fat. Which is pretty generous compared to others. I had been getting about 1200-1400 calories a day. and WHO KNOWS how much fat... I actually need to cut back again. Too many protien bars & bananas! 400 calories seems like very little to me. I don't know if I could still do that at this stage and continue to lose weight. Kathy

I average 800-1200 calories a day. Not sure how much protein I get. I am now starting to count protein because I think I am not getting enough. I do not see how you are getting that much protein with only 400 cals a day unless you live on protein drinks. Do you eat food at all? I know that with my typical lunch of sliced meat and cheese I get 14-16gr of protein and that is for 200 calories. I agree with the other posts; you should get a second opinion. Hugs, Robin

I usually get in around 700 calories a day, though I should aim for 1000-1200 or so. It's just not possible because I can't eat much in a sitting so sometimes I eat something that's not good for me but high in calories like a snack size candy bar (shhh!) and it actually keeps my weight loss moving. I'm supposed to get in 102-122g of protein but there's a formula for that so 50-60 may be right on for you. I think on the unjury website there's a protein calculator which will tell you how much your body needs per day if you want to double check.

Oh god THANK YOU, I though shw as crazy, she is new though. I have been going up to 700 to 750 a day, and I lose on an avg, about 13 lbs a month, I dont feel 400 is nearly enough, and as I thought neither does anyone else, I think you all know best. I drink 2 protein drinks a day the rest is filled with just protein, no room for the calories for anything else, I get in between 50 and 60 grams of protein, no hair falling out, so that seems to be ok. Thank you thank you thank you Vicki

my nut said around 1,000 a day, and I keep it right at that. Sometimes it is hard for me, but I try really hard to keep it at that, or I stall.
