Darlene, that is a great accomplishment for you and EJ...you did a great job! Now going walking every Saturday is a wonderful goal and I am sure you will accompli**** but if you found a chance each day to walk just a little - even 1/2 to 1 mile, then Saturdays will be much easier for you. 4.5 miles is a great distance especially since you aren't used to walking. Keep it up! Barbara

I know I know Barbara.... I come up with so many excuses during the week.... Mainly...time.... Im awake at like 4.30am, to get ready and leave for work at 6am, then we dont get home till 6pm....(If we don't have something else that night, support group, cake decorating class, any meetings) so when we aren't out after work I have about 3 hours of my own time... cleaning, cooking, resting after work..... on the nights we have appointments I get home at 9-10pm and go straight to bed... It just seems like there is not the time in the day...

I know - during the week it is rough with your schedule and doing your hiking on Saturday is great and a good thing you have started. But you sure did the "marathon thing" for one of your first Saturdays out!!!! Take care of yourself and MAKE RIGHT TURNS next time!!!! Wish I had the Arizona area to walk around in! Barbara

Congratulations to both of you!!!! It turned out to be a bigger undertaking than planned, but you both did it! That is fantastic. As you said a year ago there is just no way. But look how amazing it is now the things you both can accomplish. Sounds like a great place for walking. We have walking trails / routes here, but mostly flat. Which is nice, but you can go for miles and miles. It is actually being still worked on in other parts of the state an eventually the plan is for it to reach from here in Pittsburgh (or wherever in PA on the West part of the state it starts at, and go all the way to Washington DC. I think that might be a bit of a walk! LOL Again congrats on doing this, it sounds like it was a bit tough, but you toughed it out and did it and I can tell that you are both very proud of yourselves and eachother. And what I love also is that you and EJ are like me and my DH we do everything together, he is so supportive and raring to go any time I am. Keep it up! You rock.
