Exercise anyone?
After reading several posts on other forums about ChicoMetrics, I ordered a DVD from them. It came the other day and yesterday I decided to "try it out". Well - my husband has this elaborate entertainment system with more remotes than there are days in the week. I don't dare attempt to figure out the remote system and had him "try" to play this new DVD. After dealing with 4 - 4 mind you - remotes - we got the DVD to come on! Anyway - I highly recommend it for everyone. All you need is determination, a chair and a towel and then star****ch your inches melt away! They recommend you do it only twice a week - in addition to other aerobic exercise.
According to their web site: "ChicoMetrics is a fitness program that utilizes special isometric and isotonic exercises. This deep muscle toning program targets every muscle of the body from head to toe. Exercising with Chico or ChicoMetrics will help slim and strengthen your body. It will also build stamina, promote flexibility and enhance mobility. Strengthened, toned muscles help alleviate many common physical problems such as lower back pain, arthritis discomfort, weak knees and weak shoulder joints. ChicoMetrics provides a resistance training program without using weights. It is also a great anaerobic workout safe for all ages, fitness levels and body types. All you need is a chair and a towel!"
There are 2 versions on the DVD - the basic and golden. The basic requires you to "get on the floor", but the golden is done completely sitting down on a chair. I started with the basic and quickly switched to the golden. (My husband was even doing it!) I do think as I continue to lose weight and continue this chicometrics, I will advance to the basic, but the golden works the same muscles - and you get the same benefit and this old big body isn't jumping up and off the floor! Now you "youngens" won't have any problem with the basic, but if you are just beginning to think about an exercise program and not ready yet to jump up and down from the floor, then the golden will definitely work for you! Their web site is www.chocometrics.com
I did the entire workout yesterday and have a few muscles this morning that know I did it, but I felt good after doing it. They show you how to measure your body and provide a form for you to keep track with it. So, just thought I would let you guys know about this program. The DVD is $29.95 (I think - maybe $24.95) and this might be an alternative to joining a gym if that is a financial worry for you. Keep in mind, you would still need some aerobic exercise - but walking is cheap! Have a good day all. Barbara
OOPS....the web site is
www.chicometrics.com
sorry misspelled it in the post above!
Barbara,
I was going to email you about this very topic! I remembered a while back that you had mentioned wanting to order this DVD and I wanted to know how you liked it because EVERYONE seems to be doing it and LOVING it so I am actually going to buy it this week. We are remodeling our kitchen and that is taking up all my money *grrr* so next paycheck is MINE! hehe
I cant wait to get it. =)
Trish
Barbara, I was going to ask you about this as well. It seems as if everyone is experiencing tremendous results with this product. I've finally decided to join the gym and work out with a personal trainer for a few sessions. Hopefully good results will motivate me to continue the trend of exercise. Lately I've felt as if I need to gain strength as I lose weight. Keep us posted as you try Chicometrics! I may decide to supplement working out with the DVDs.

We are going to the YMCA tonight to check out their program. They have water aerobics 2 nights a week and I really enjoy that. The chicometrics hopefully will be an added bonus - like water aerobics -you are doing what they say, but it isn't as hard as land aerobics or bouncing up and off the floor!!! Anyway - love the Pat's picture on your profile...you are doing so well and .....whew....you looked "sexy" in your black and white! Keep it up! Glad you are going to join "STYLZ" (aka Karen) in the Obesity Walk. Barbara
how did it go at the Y?
did john register for the walk too? i didnt know if only post and pre ops register or if everyone does...
I went to the chicometrics site.. i wish they showed some of the routines on the dvd. there is a lot of testimonial from people, but not a lot of pictures or clips from the dvd
