Barbara--I love you!

Hey, Barbara, You recently posted about protein. I have never gotten the right amount of protein. I had a hard time with meat, and I could not stomach the protein drinks. I was eating less than 900 calories a day, but my weight loss was only 2-3 pounds a week. I started working out 5 times a week--drinking 80-100 ounces of water and still no improvement. I had a rough visit with my surgeon-- he was upset about my non-compliance and low loss. I was so depressed. I read your post and decided to suck it up! I have eaten no less than 100 grams of protein a day. I have been drinking the Pro something drinks for 3 oz with 25 grams of protein. I eat Pure Protein bars or South Beach bars for breakfast. I have been eating 50 grams of protein with shrimp each day, whatever it takes to hit 100. I have not counted calories or carbs. I have lost 11 pounds in 7 days. I was on a plateau, but I know the protein has kicked it up for me. Thank you all for your supportive, informative posts. MARCHERS ARE THE BEST! Phyllis down 82 pounds since the beginning--65 since surgery Size 24/26 down to Size 14/16

Hi Phyllis....I am glad the protein is helping you. I think though you were probably in a stall and it just stalled out! But I do know the protein has to help with lots of things. I tried drinking those 3 oz protein drinks with 25 grams of protein and gagged through the one I tried and haven't tried again!!!!! And it is hard to get so much protein in a day, but it sounds like you are doing it! Keep it up and congrats on such a great loss in 7 days - YOU GO GIRL!!!! Barbara

You are an awesome cheerleader, Stephanie. I am so glad we had surgery in the same month--you are a great motivator. BTW, you are looking terrific. I like the new "do".
