New here!!
Hi Ladies!!
I am new here!! My name is Heather. I am 5 months tomrrow (no matter what my profile says, can't get it right) I had VBG in '99, pregnancy sickness busted out all my staples, then Open Gastric bypass five months ago. I have lost 83 pounds. I just needed to talk to people that have had this, I am not able to go to support groups because of kids.
I have been on one heck of a slow month, I have only lost 5 pounds--been super stressed and haven't felt like eating much. Hard to get past feeling guilty when eating. Two days after eating "normally" or as normal as you can with this surgery, I lost 5 pounds. Trying to eat more. Hope everyone is doing well. Think thin thoughts.

Hi Heather. We are "surgiversary" buddies!
Sounds like you are losing so well. I have not quite lost 70 lbs. Still fighting for a few more but won't make it for my anniversary date. I did measure today though and although I have only lost 7 lbs this month, I have lost 10.25 inches. I think that's great. I can really tell in my clothes too. Maybe you could measure today and be encouraged by that. It is hard to not see that scale move though. I am trying to keep in mind that I have lost nearly 1/2 of what I want to lose to reach goal. Not so bad for only 5 months.
I have noticed that when I eat regularly and exercise too that I lose. I go through about a week a month were I just can't eat from stomach pain and then my weight stalls for about a week and a half. Try to keep up the "normal" eating.
So glad you joined us. Please feel free to email me anytime.
Hugs, Robin
Hi Heather!
Welcome!!!
Your not alone, it seems a lot of people have commented how slow month 5 has been for weight loss.... Im 5 months out on Sunday, and the last 4-5 weeks have been soooo slow for weight loss... I think it's just a natural stage most everyone is going through right now. I seem to be picking up again now...
Feel free to just jump right in.
