So I did it!!!! I know you are wondering what I did.... For the first time in 7 years (Yes 7!!!!!!) I rode a roller coaster with over the shoulder restraints!!!! I know I whined and complained a month ago that I couldnt ride sheikra because it was about half an inch from fitting... Yesterday my hubby and I took my little brother to Seaworld for his 11th birthday. Seaworld has Kraken. I told the hubby that if they had a seat at the front I could check out, I'd see if I fit. I didnt want to go all the way thru that line and then have it not fit again.. I couldn't handle the embarrassment. Well, we got to the line, and there was a test seat, so I got in it, sat down, and buckled it right away. I just sat in the chair for a minute, pushing on it... thinking well, maybe it didnt snap... maybe this is all in my head... but I wasn't going ANYWHERE!! So I got out of the chair and ran back to my hubby... I was so close to crying.. I start screaming.. it fits ... it fits!!! He laughed at me and said.. well, silly girl, dont just stand around screaming, go ride it!! I got all the way to the ride, took off my flip flops (floorless roller coaster) and was totally liberated. My hubby asked me afterwards how I felt. It was the most exhilarating, liberating, totally awesome thing that has happened yet... Thank you God for this oppurtunity, and thank you Dr. Jawad for making it possible.... Amy

Amy, Congratulations!!! We just went to Orlando for vacation, and of course the Disney rides were fine, but I was stressed out at Universal when the family wanted to ride the Hulk. I was embarrassed and nervous as I had to ask people to get out of the test seats (they were playing) and let me try it. Everyone was looking, and I knew it would be too tight, but I fit! So I was able to ride all of the rides, and I loved it! I can so understand your euphoria. It is amazing how different our lives are becoming, don't you think? I hope your little brother had a fun birthday--I know you did! Phyllis

Phylis, Wooohooo!!! We can be roller coaster fiends together!! We are going back to busch gardens so I can show sheikra who's boss... Then after we move.. there's a six flags around the corner... so you know I'll get my money's worth again!!! My little brother had an awesome birthday, but was a little bummed because he still needs another inch before he can ride Kraken.. I needed to loose a few, and he needs to gain a few.. LOL!!! Amy

You'll fit just fine at roller coasters in KC. I just went there last weekend with the youth group and I fit great. I didn't attempt the Patriot but that's cause I'm chicken. And I about freaked when hubby took my 10 year old on the Thunderhawk. Now that one would have been tight if I had been a crazed lunatic and tried to attempt it-- which I didn't. (They had a great time. I prayed the whole time they were on it.) So have fun!
