My 3 Month Anniversary....

Well, actually my 3 month anniversary is tomorrow, but I wanted to post today cause I'll probably get busy and forget tomorrow. Well it's one heck of a ride huh? I am down an amazing 90lbs since surgery!!! Before surgery, in my head I wanted to lose 100lbs by 6 months... I never thought things would happen this fast... Before surgery I was in a size 26 pants, now Im wearing a 20. Shirts I was a 26/28... Ive gone to a size 22. It's honestly hard for me to see it, though I did look at a framed photo we have at home yesterday from pre-surgery times... and I did notice how fat my face looked in it. Plus the new photo's my friend took in CA help me see it more. Im finding it a little hard because after losing 90lbs, Im getting pretty much no compliments, other than from all the wonderful people on OH, and family. It's just a little discouraging. No problems with food, Ive found my appetite coming back a little more now, and Im feeling good! Here's hoping the next 3 months go just as smoothly! Darlene 338/248/170

Hi Darlene, I can't believe that you are not getting compliments on your amazing weight loss!. I looked at your vacation pictures and your before and after pictures and there is a huge difference. You are so BEAUTIFUL in your vacation pictures! Good luck in your continued efforts. Mary 298/227/150

I agree with the other poster. Its hard to believe you arent getting comments from others besides OH and family. I/We believe y ou but what is wrong with the rest of the world!?! You can DEFINATELY tell the difference with your new pics. I think sometimes it can be that others are jealous, or dont want to make a big deal out of stuff. Its hard to tell what they are thinking. I know running into an old co-worker yesterday and having her say how skinny I was looking (not by far, but compared to how Ive always been of course lol ) , her saying that has meant the most so far. So I can see also how "others" saying it can be important. I guess we think that because family knows, they are watching and can see change. But when someone who doesnt see us as much says "whoa! look at you" it kind of validates it. Who knows, this is a crazy ride. One I never want to get off. Just keep doing what you're doing, and do it for you and thats all that matters! You look fabulous!!

Yeah you pretty much summed up what I was thinking... Family and friends know I had surgery and they compliment me because they love me... Just once I'd like someone I know at work here (Huge building thousands of people) that I worked with in the past and haven't seen since before surgery say something.... When I did the South Beach Diet and lost 52lbs, I got that all the time... now Im just frustrated, does no one see it, it's 90lbs for goodness sakes??? I know it's a little selfish, but I'd just like one person to say, wow you look great...

I totally agree, I found myself yesterday trying to hunt down people at church that I had not seen in a few months just to see what they would say....how dissappointing it was that when they said nothing I was like " Ummm Hello, Do you not see the ZIPPER on my SHORTS" hahaha they do look at me like they are trying to figure out what is diffrent....oh well... I am looking forward to seeing my brother and his family when we got to washington on the 30th... they have not seen me since christmas when I was 405, and now I am 320... I also have not allowed anyone to send him pictures of me... so it should be fun....I cant wait! Jeani

Darlene, happy 3 month anniversary! You've done so well. 90 pounds are gone forever and that is amazing progress! It's tough when others don't notice or say anything about it. I face that as well, though I am not even close to 90 pounds down! Keep up the great work! - Stephanie
