Itching!

I am having the worst problem with my STOMACH itching. I have stretchmarks on my stomach... from gaining, and now losing, weight. That area is SO ITCHY all the time!!! It is on the pouch part right below and above my belly button, all the way out to my sides. It isn't under the "flap", but higher. I have tried a million (okay maybe not THAT many) different lotions and they don't seem to help. And my clothes all seem to really bother me being against my skin there. It'a like that skin is ultra sensative now. YIKES! Anyone else having that problem? On a better note. I weighed myself in at 262 today... that down from 328. Total of 66 pounds! WOOHOO! Patti

patti do you possibly have a topical yeast infection? is there a rash at all? try oatmeal baths at home at night to see if that will help you be able to sleep instead of itch hugs and sympathy danni ENJOYING THE JOURNEY in a hat

Hubby has itchy problems as his tummy receeded... The stretch marks did it to him. Darlene

Patti, I've been having this problem since 1 month out! I got a lot of feedback....some that were suggested...yeast infection cream, anti-foot itch cream (like gold bonds), and deoderant (regular unscented). As for what I ended up using was actual neosporin, right before I got to bed i put some on and when I wake up the rash is 70% better. I get the rash every 2-3 weeks, then the skin kinda peels and grows a new layer until i get all itchy again! Good luck!! ~Nancy 267/225/145

I havent had any major problem with it. But you mentioning it, I did have a day I remember last week that yes my belly area was itchy. Never thought of it having anything to do with weightloss, stretch marks or anything, but guess that could be a reason. Maybe your skin is shrinking in, and as its moving we can kind of feel it so it feels itchy?!

I have exzema. Just got it this winter and it has stuck around. My bad spots are on my belly and hips. Go to a dermatologist. They can help prescribe the right cream and indentify yeast infection etc. I think it is possible to be driven mad from itching. Just talking about it has gotton my arms itchy Belinda

I have been itching on my stomach, too! My lower abdomen has a "hanging" area of stretch-marked skin that is shrinking, so I know the itching is because of the skin trying to shrink. No rash or anything. I am just hoping that it shrinks MORE AND MORE so I won't have to have a tummy tuck later (but I doubt it will shrink THAT much, heheh). Patty, keep in mind how fast we are losseing this weight it will tend to give us skin crawling itch, at the rate our bodys are changeing we will itch you are literaly feeling you'r body reajust itself that may sound strange but think about it . if you had a sun burn as it heals you feel it change from burn to peeling to tan same thing going on here the body healing from the inside out. my guess is it will stop in time. now if you see a rash then see a doc. if not don't worrie but creams and lotens don't work. take time to relax
