saw my "new stomach" yesterday!

On tuesday I started having pains in my chest. I posted about it and people said its probably because I'm eating and drinking too fast, but since it usually goes away a while after eating and mine didn't I talked to the clinic and they scheduled me for an Upper GI and a Bowel Follow through. Upper GI was quick, bowel follow through was about 3 hours.. You drink more of the barium (stuff you drink for the upper gi) and they take an x-ray every 30 minutes to see the intestinal tract to make sure things are "normal" When they did the upper gi I couldnt see the monitor so I didnt get to see my new stomach (sorry I just cant come to terms with calling it a "pouch" since I'm not a kangaroo ). I met with my Dr. after the tests and she said everything looks great, no blockages, no problems in the stomach or esophagus, she changed my pepcid to something a little stronger (just incase an ulcer is trying to start) and gave me a script for something to take before eating (it coats the esophagas before eating). I told her I was trying to see my stomach but couldn't, she said.. I have the pictures right here!! I looked at them and couldn't believe how small my stomach is!! Its literally the size of a quarter!!! I said THATS MY STOMACH??? She said "yeah small huh?? I gave you the cadillac of stomachs I was SOOO amazed my stomach was that small and am still shocked! No wonder why I'm full after a 6 oz protein shake!

That had to be pretty cool to see! Mine is only 2cc or the size of a grape so I can only IMAGINE trying to find it on the monitor you spoke of! Glad all looks well and I hope the new meds will help. Jennifer 355/293/140

That must have been so weird! I'd love to see mine too. I also wonder what mine looked like before surgery. It must have been huge. I hope your pains disappear for you! - Stephanie
