Amazed... and Euphoric!
I am having a lightbuld moment and just wanted to share. I am 74lbs. down from the start of my journey and have gone from tight 24's to comfortable 18's. It has all happened so fast and it is just now hitting me. I know that my sizes have changed, but (here is the lightbulb moment) now it's time for my LIFE to change. I'm just sitting here doing the same things: watching television at night, staying pretty seditary (besides gardening), not outside playing with my son, etc.
This is the 2nd chance I have always dreamed of! This is my chance to ENJOY life instead of watching it go by! Oh my gosh!!! I have the capability to DO things now! I am just so amazed and excited that I am finally getting it! It's not about the clothes...it's about what I am doing while I am wearing the clothes!
As soon as I am done posting this, I'm getting off my butt, getting dressed and walking down to the farmer's market and enjoying the nice summer rain we are having. Then, instead of plopping that same butt on the couch, I'm going to find something else to do...maybe go check out the local Curves!
I apologize for the length of the post...I'm feeling a bit Euphoric and wanted to share! This is our time! I'm just glad I finally "got it" You all are so special and although I don't post too much, I am always here grabbing every bit of encouragement and helpful tips that you have added to our group. Jave a great great day! (no, there are no drugs in my system! )
Lucy we are about the same place - I am down 73 pounds and all of a sudden I can DO stuff - I took a bike ride with my wonderful hubby this moring and it was FUN!! than I went down to the cannery and canned stuff for a couple of hours - now off to buy new tennis shoes for 3 of the 4 of us, after that sams club and then the kids to the movies - WOW do you relize that 3 months ago I need a nap from making breakfast now I can go all day as long as I remember to stop and eat and drink on a reg basis.
you are so right this is such a great time in our lives - that is why my sig line says ENJOY THE JOURNEY b/c we need to not only plan to enjoy being thinner and healthyer and all we will be able to to then but the prosses of getting there
hugs

ENJOY THE JOURNEY
Danni, Congratulations on the weight loss!!! AND bike rides?!? Who would have thought that we would be doing that? I love what you said about the "process of getting there". That's perfect! It's like only using the good china on special occassions...everyday should be a "special occassion". With us, it's not the goal weight...it's the journey TO the goal weight and enjoying the life we were missing before WLS.
EEGAADD Danni...I think we've got it! (to be said in British accent). Another moment!
Thank you also Dani for all of your wonderful posts...you are a great inspiration and I wish you ALL the best...you certainly deserve it!
Lucy
Lucy, congratulations on such terrific progress! Thank you, also, for reminding me to participate more in this process rather than just allow it to happen to me. It's tough to change these sedentary habits sometimes but it will be well worth it.
Enjoy the euphoria (especially as it is not drug induced! )

Stephanie, Thank you for the encouragement and wow...what a journey you have been on. I loved reading your profile and I would keep saying to myself, "yes...YES!!!" Totally on the same page as you are! I was wondering...remember when you talked about how you were trying to manage that bad day at work and you would normally go throught the DT? What about getting out of that element and just getting outside. And when I say outside...really look around, breathe in the fresh air, smile as passer-bys. I know, it sounds corn ballish, but I have been feeling bluesy myself (and then beating myself up because I was one of the lucky ones who got another chance and quit feeling sorry foryourself!) and have found that the "little" things like going outside and enjoying it really does make me appreciate "that" moment.
I wish I would have known you were in Chicago...you would have only been 2 hours away...so, let me know when you travel this way again! No extender on the seatbelt...WOOHOO!
Again, it was great seeing into your world and what a world we're going to make it, Huh?!

Thanks for your comments Lucy!
I will give going outside a try the next time I need to go "somewhere". It's rained here for the last two weeks so it wasn't an option at the time. But today the rain has stayed away and I hope it does so for a few days. Maybe I should try a park or something. It might be nice to people watch in an environment like that.
I'll definitely let you know when I'm headed to Chicago again. It would be great to see you!
Have a great week! (((Lucy)))
