how do you do it?
I have been stalled for 4 weeks now...no weight loss and only 3 inches lost...I walk, swim or gazelle everyday, I get in about 500 calories (and that is a struggle) and I get about 50 to 60 gms of protein...should be getting 75. I can't have milk, yogurt, eggs or peantubutter they all come back up, can't do breads or pastas they hurt to bad...so that leaves me with meat and veggies I have got to get teh scale moving but I don't know how...1 of my doctors even said she didn't know why I wasn't loosing the weight. Any suggestions? I know the surgery worked I've lost 43lbs....but how do I keep it working?
Mimi
if you are working out you need to up your protien...have you tried beef jerky? I like the nuggets, they are easy to chew and someone recommended Oberto jerky chips..haven't tried them yet...
Can you add some no flavored protien mix to your food? When our protien is up our bodies go into Ketosis (spelling??) We talked about this at group this week...
Make sure you calorie free liquids are at a minimum of 60 oz...if your workign out you should shoot for 80.
you're stall will move soon!!
I agree Mimi - it sounds like you need to up your protein. If you are unable to eat protein foods right now why don't you see about going back to shakes?
One thing that I'm able to drink (and I HATE protein shakes) is the Low Carb Spiced Chai Tea you can get at Bariatric Eating.com, mixed with one scoop of IDS Vanilla Cinnamon protein powder. While I've been buying this stuff from Bariatric Eating.com I'm sure you can find chai powders (maybe not low carb) or vanilla cinnamon protein powder somewhere else.
Also, try to incorporate more cheese into your diet. I lived on string cheese the first several weeks and it's still a staple for me.
Are you getting enough water? That's important as well.
Hang in there. This will work for you. You are doing all the right things Mimi, just keep it up and make sure you get more protein in.

Tina

have you gone and talked to lt kann (the nut)? how much protien are you getting ? try to up it to as much as you can. try drinking skim milk instead of water if you can - the commisary has protien added skim milk that is 10 grams of protien per 8 oz - I know of people who have done that instead of protien shakes at first.
I am drinking 3 protien shakes a day for 75 grams of protien plus eat some other stuff
if you would like to try some protien shakes from sunharvest or gnc we have those at the house - i will share you a scoop of each to try

I did and she said not to worry but to try to increase my fluid and calorie intake. I did get in 73gms of protein yesterday which was a 1st but I felt like I ate all day and because I did I didn't get but 38 oz of fluid...no where near enough! I woke up thirsty in the night.
I would love to try what you have. I have some unflavored ones I can mix in some things, but not in everything.
I wish I could do milk I have tried so many times but I can't do milk based products...they come back up with a vengence. I can do powdered milk but that is...so I mix that in my coffee in the morning.
This week I am going to work on fluids and protein and see if that gets things moving.

Mimi, that is one heck of a stall! I don't have the answer as there could be so many possibilities. Our bodies don't seem to lose the weight when we think they should. I often wonder if mine knows what it is doing. Perhaps it truly is defective! Can I trade it in for a new one??? I suppose if that was possible, I wouldn't have needed surgery. Keep your chin up. The scale will move again. You are following the rules and it will move. I haven't lost in a while either. Maybe it's the weather. It's been raining here for two days. Could it be that I'm simply water logged?
