Topic: WL Challenge: 14 lbs to Onderland
Hi all, I haven't posted in awhile, but do check in with the boards often. I always find it encouraging to read your posts. I've lost -138 lbs since 3/28/05. Started surgery at 352, now weigh 214. Anyone want some encouragement to lose the next "chunk" of weight? I need to lose 14 lbs to get to Onderland and would love a challenge from some of you. Does anyone want to work with me to lose the weight? Email daily how it's going, maybe talk by phone, encourage each other on the last push, maybe post "Challenge" daily on the boards and check in? I'd love some help and encouragement to make good food and exercise choices for myself. Seems like I can eat almost anything without problems so the next bit of work has to come from good choices. Looking forward to hearing from some of you! blessings and hugs to you, Heidi

Hi all, I've lost 138 lbs since 3/28/05. I started at 352 and am down to 214. The scale's been up and down the past month. It's my fault because I've been eating lots of stuff I hadn't eaten since my surgery and stuff I shouldn't be eating anyway. Sadly, my pouch is very tolerant. I've only dumped about 10 times since the surgery. The only food that seems to make my heart race are surgery milk products like frozen yogurt or breakfast cereal. I even ate a whole candy bar the other day with no problems. Rats. Wish I had problems with it because now I have to choose not to eat it because it's not good for me than choose not to eat it because it makes me sick. I have 14 lbs to onderland and feeling inspired to reach that goal! Heidi S

That is a good site. I went to that site, clicked on "emotions" and then went to the last article. It's called, "I sold my soul to the bathroom scale". It really spoke to me, and that in itself irritated me. I am getting rid of my scale. Becky

I am at a crawl too. Started at 286 and now I am 176. -110 but my goal is 150. Seems the last 20-30 lbs is so hard. he last few weeks I jhave lost and gained the same 3-4 lbs. Definately time to get back to basics. But look how well we have all done!!!!! And the fact most of us has stalled means we are responding normally I would guess!!! Lets get the rest off gang! We can do it. Remeber most surgeons do say the process takes 18 months.

Does anyone read Kaye Bailey's newsletter "Living after WLS"? For those of us struggling, it gives me motivation. She writes a newsletter and a blog. I am trying to take to heart her recent article on "getting back on track". She does have some advertisements on her newsletter, but that doesn't bother me (just look at the ones here on OH). If you have questions, you can email her and she responds very promptly. We need all the help and encouragement we can get right? Here is a link to her website and blog http://www.livingafterwls.com http://www.livingafterwls.blogspot.com corgimom

Thanks. I'm glad I am remotivating you. We all need encouragement and without it we will not be as successful as we could be. So last night, after going to CURVES during my lunch break yesterday, my husband decides he wants to go to GOLD's to work out. So I went with him last night to Gold's. Did 1 mile on the treadmill, 20 minutes of abs, 1 hour on the weight circuit and then 2 miles on the bike. I thought I'd be alot sorer today, but I'm not. Not planning to go to both in the same day, but I don't think it will hurt me too much. Sandy
