I was just wondering how the exercise machine is working out.  I am trying to watch every bit that goes in my mouth.  I still drink a lot of protein drinks.  I walk most days a couple of miles, go to water aerobics three times a week, and take a dance class once or twice a week.  I have a gym membership and like taking classes, but I not seem to get to class.

I keep thinking about getting a treadmill, but I am afraid it will sit in the basement unused.

Topic: Ange is revising to a DS with Dr Husted
Carol and Lori called me a few mins ago and said that those fees will be billed to my insurance co and we'll go from there.  I've thought about it for quite awhile and decided to go ahead with trying to get a revision to a DS with Dr Husted.   My appt is Dec 4 and I am so excited.  I can't wait.  I was excited before my rny journey began and I'm very excited now.  The reason I am going for a revision is that I've gained 80lbs in the last year and I have tried and tried to get it off.  I have severe acid issues and I just feel that this is where I need to go.  Best of luck to those of u just starting out or like me and starting again.

Hi everyone,

I'm on my 5th day on the 5 DPT and its amazing, I had gained 30 lbs and with this diet i have
gained control of my habits, I really recomment it to all WLS it will make your pouch smaller
and you will be eating less and gain the control. I placed the link. If you have any question your more that welcome to ask.

"Those who go into surgery with the assumption that they will never have to think about what they eat, or need to make lifestyle adjustment to lose weight, or think that they can have surgery and "eat anything they want" are in for a ride awakening if they don't change theis attitude. they and they alone, are responsible for their wight.

At least you have only gained 15 lbs! I've gained more than that!!! I'm not a happy camper and I don't eat more than I was! We ordered a Tony Liddle ellipitcal machine this weekend. I'm hoping that will help. My job keeps me busy and I haven't been making it to the gym. I can't see that exercise is that important, but maybe it is.

I'm 3 1/2 years out, too...I really would like to get back down to where I was!!

Just was looking at the replies to a note I had posted on the site.   I am  still fighting the realism of keeping my weight loss down.  I can not seem to get back to my lowest which was about 15lbs less than I am now.   The topic of graduates of 3 yrs or more should be addressed more.  We are a special group in that this is the time we put on the wt. and get discouraged.   We need to have mentors to talk to and follow.   This is really critical for us.    I have continued to see my counsellor 1 to 1 and she is such a grand person.  She has helped me with so many things and to look at the reasons why I eat.  Maybe this is something we should all have as part of our surgical program , at least for 3 visits 3 yrs post op.    We are basically a new breed at 3 yrs.  New post ops do not have the same problems.  yes we can help them but we need different help.   When I return to SC in a few weeks I will miss my counsellor and the support group near me are totally newbies.  Makes it tough for me to get the help I need.  Maybe we can swap notes.  email is [email protected]

Hi friends. I am an active member on the March 2004 board, having had gastric bypass surgery in March 2004 and having lost 216 lbs. I am maintaining most of that weight loss but it is a daily struggle. Many of us "Marchers" have recently done the 5-day pouch test with some good success and I invite you to visit our Board! We are all facing similar struggles and perhaps "getting together" to build support might be just what we all need right now - strength in numbers and all that - at any rate, I thought I would extend the invitation. Be well in your journey - Maureen
