Today is my anniversary of the new me. What a whirlwind experience it has been. I have gone from a bmi of 42 to 24.2. I feel great, my confidence is much improved compared to 1 year ago. I have more energy and most of all, I smile alot more these days. Only 20 more pounds to go and I will be at my ideal weight. It just doesn't get any better than this.....I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

Genny, I wouldn't stress so much over it. You have done wonderfully. There is no reason for anyone to beat you with a stick and I have never believed in relying on the numbers on the scale, it's more about being healthy and feeling good. It's not the rate at which you lose but that you are losing and not gaining. I don't know about you but I have never lost any weight and have definitly gained weight between October and March every year except this year. Afterall, we have Halloween(chocolate), Thankgiving(pecan pie, stuffing...etc.),Christmas (food, food and more food),New years(more food and plenty of alcohol) and then when you start to feel a little better there is good old Valentines day....lol. Well you get the picture. Be proud, stand tall and continue on this wonderful path you are on, you are a complete success! Jean

Yes, I've snacked on valentines and girl scout cookies. Did you ever hit a platue like this? How did you get to 135!!!

I can understand the whining--It hurts girl! Take it out--ASAP--another attack can be unbearable--I had mine out in November--and a small hernia repair at the same time--it really wasn't so bad--the hernia was worse than the gallbladder--so get over yourself---and have it done-those attacks are miserable! Take care and let us know! Lisa

3/7/06 I can't believe it's been a year (3/8/06)! My life is so great!! I had a very busy day today. I followed up with my bariatrician today--he said I was a perfect patient! I also went to see a plastic surgeon, Dr. Wang Ashraf, she's awesome. I scheduled a date for my lower body and breast lift. The date is 4/7/06. I am SO excited. I also went to Georgia Tech today for a Bod Pod (Body Composition analysis) my current percentage of body fat is 12.7%. She was in disbelief. She pulled out her skin fold calipers to get a second measurement which was 13.3%. All of my exercising has paid off!! I am incredibly happy with my decision to have RNY gastric bypass!! Meg RNY 3/8/06 Highest weight 285/Day of Surgery 256/Today @ goal of 135!!!

Here is the scoop...I am one year out and I need my gallbladder out. This really makes me mad. I begged him to take it out during my bypass. BEGGED. He had it in his hand. I have only had 2 attacks. One bad one in Nov. that I went to ER for and one a few weeks ago that I managed to stay home. And, I do not want to have it out. Not another surgery. But, they (the docs, I have seen 3) keep saying "gallstone pancreatitis". That scares me more than the surgery. And of course I don't have big stones, I have little ones. They are the ones that will move and block the pancreas. If I had big ones the surgeon says he would just leve them. Plus, will he be able to do this thing laproscopically??? He says most likely yes. This just sucks. Everyone says "you'll feel better". I don't feel bad. And I can't even yell at my surgeon, he has left the practice and I don't know where he went. Thank you for listening. Hope everyone is doing well with their one year re-birthdays. Regards, Terri 331/224/125ish

I have been on a plateau and really frustrated. This is what I ate today: B: Protein hot chocolate (30 grams protein, 170 cal) S: Coffee L: 3 oz chicken and 1 tbls potatoe S: Wildberry protein shake w/ strawberries (200 cal, 30 gr protein) D: 2 oz steak, broccoli S: 1 mini mounds bar (80 cal) OOPS! According to fit day I had around 1000 cal and over 100 grams of protein

Tammy, best of luck on your surgery. Sounds as if you have a positive attitude. Keep it up and follow the Doctors orders. TraciL
