Topic: Sometimes I feel discouraged
When I hear about all the successes each and everyone of you have posted. Not that I haven't been successful, I never could have achieved a 112 lb loss without the tool of surgery. What is discouraging to me is that I was really hoping to be at goal by my one year anniversary. I have 15 lbs to go to get to my surgeon's goal and 20 to get to mine with my surgery anniversary being in exactly one week. Needless to say, even with this tool, I won't make my goal.
I am very happy that everyone here has done so well, I guess I'm just a little slow. Please keep posting your progress, I think it's important to all of us to keep encouraging each other.

Topic: 1 year appointment today
I just got back from my 1 year checkup with Dr. Duffy. I have lost 122 lbs. Weighing in now at 142. And all my bloodwork is great. I have lost 95% of my excess weight. Another 7lbs and I will be considered of normal BMI, according to the BMI calculator of course. But Dr. Duffy said it is hard to sit there and call me overweight since I am probably smaller than most people on the street. Smaller than most? Never thought that would be possible. I feel great and I guess I look great to (with clothes on of course). I am so greatful to have had this opportunity and I am very happy with the results so far. I am going to work hard to maintain this weight loss. This was the best thing I have ever done to be healthy. And dang I do look good! Hope to have a tummy tuck and maybe a thigh lift! Can't believe I just might have a flat, toned abdomen! Well enough of all that! Thanks to all of you, who post faithfully every day....I believe reading your struggles and triumphs have helped me greatly!
Topic: almost a year
I have not posted on this board before, but Im very active on the calif. board. But I just wanted to wish every a great month.
I am almost at a year for me. (the 23rd) Im doing good. Getting ready to run/walk in the LA marathon. I have lost over 150 pounds and only have 26 to goal. I have been stuck at this same weight since January and I have not been working out as much, and have only been walking/jogging I know that once I get this marathon out of the way and start cross training agian, I can change that.
Ok enough about.
I really do wish everyone a great day

Topic: RE: I PASSED MY GOAL!!!
YAY Michelle!!!
I am just so amazed when I look at your picture now to see how wonderful you look. (I have got to get an after picture and post myself-I don't know why I haven't.) I think its so funny how we get to a certain size and say, okay I could stay here and be thrilled. For me, when I got to a size 10 I was absolutely so stunned and happy I would have been perfectly content at that size. Now I am a size 4, but I really don't feel any smaller than I did at size 10.
go figure.
Congrats on the excellent results!
Any anniversary plans? My one year is the day before yours and I have no idea if I should treat myself or not!

Topic: 1 year anniversary!
Like everyone in this group will do this month, I just had my 1 year anniversary of my revision from the band to the DS.
I went from 440lbs down to 259lbs as of yesterday. (I'm 258 today!)
My blood pressure had gone down, I can exercise and even jog a tiny bit, I have a lot more energy and I'm loving life. I hit the gym 3 days a week with my personal trainer and I'm doing 5-6x per week of cardio.
I'm so happy that I had the DS - I have hope of losing that next 60 pounds and getting to 199, then further hope to see my goals of 170 then 149.
Lots of supplementing for me, and I drink 2 protein shakes per day (as a DS, I can process more protein than a lot of the rny folk can) and get my 64oz water, and try to keep my protein over 120 and my carbs under 100.

Topic: PREGNANT- OMG!
Hey guys- it's me Pamela here. It has been a while since I posted. Well it's been a year since my surgery. I was 14 lbs from goal but have had a little surprise. I am pregnant!
I really didn't think it would happen. I had to come off of birth control because of complications early last summer. So really didn't think we were fertile. Well SURPRISE! My due date is November 12 OF THIS YEAR!!! Unreal.
I was just making plans for skin surgery- stomach and breasts. Well guess that will wait. Now I am stressing about weight gain. I am gonna fight like heck to kept it very low but still safe for baby.
Right now my days consist of 2 things
and
. My husband is right proud of himself
Well this is all about
. Guess my husband really digs his new wife (at least her new body).
I will keep everyone up to date. So far my nurtitionists thinks I will be fine and my bariatric endcronologist is going to do all the blood work through-out the pregnancy. I am very lucky to have that type of specialist to follow me and give me an advantage on keeping organ function at its supreme best!
