Topic: RE: Galbladder follow up
Terri,
Glad to hear you're doing well. I had my gallbladder removed March 2nd and on the 21st will be my one year surgiversary....I had mine done laparascopically as well. My same surgeon that did my RNY did my gallbladder removal as well. I also had pancreatitist along with the gallstones so to me it was more painful than the RNY surgery was.

Toni,
Please don't be discouraged. This is a lifelong journey we are all undertaking. I have met my weight goal (thanks primarily to strictures), yet I am failing miserably at getting enough water and taking my vitamins with great regularity. We all have our individual struggles, but we can each encourage one another. That is why I love this site!

Congrats on the weight loss Barry. Isn't this a marvelous time for reflection on the gift of life we have been given all over again? Here's hoping you have many more joyful and healthy years ahead of you!

Jeanette,
Thanks for your post and I am glad that you are doing better. I had heard that a possible side effect of ibuprofin was stomach ulcers, but no one told me not to take it. I have used it from time to time this past year. Are we as post-ops more at risk for this?
Thanks,
Annie
Topic: RE: HAS IT BEEN A YEAR????
Congrats on the weight loss Steve! Isn't the one year anniversary wonderful? I know what you mean about the first nine months. I think I have only lost 5 pounds in the last three. Plastics will be the wonderful icing on the proverbial cake for your weight loss journey. Yeah for you!!

Topic: RE: Bittersweet anniversary (long)
Congratulations on your anniversary and my heart goes out to you for the loss of your father. How sad to have two such monumental events intertwined. It must comfort you to have had those last words of love with your father. I wish you continued success in your weight loss journey. With 150 pounds down though, you sound like you have done amazing. Way to go!!

Topic: RE: What did you eat today, and did you exercise?
Good golly Mary Ellen!! You are a warrior! I ate two pieces of bacon w/ a one egg cheese and mushroom omlet for breakfast. I had a protein bar at lunch and half a shredded pork sandwich with cheese and a dollop of coleslaw. I will polish off with a protein shake tonight. I would estimate the protein around 60g. I didn't even leave the house today. It was the first day my husband has had off in over three weeks. I was a blob on the couch with him while he watched basketball (boring), but I loved being with him.
Way to go with the food and exercise! You must feel great!

Toni & everyone else who has responded. THANK YOU for your post! For about 2 months now I have litterally been down in the dumps about my weight loss....or lack there of. I really thought I was a failure. And now, by reading these posts, I've realized that I've made an unrealistic goal. I wanted to be down to goal about 135-140 by 1 year. My anniversary is March 28th and quite frankly I am 172-175 (fighting the same 3 pounds as well). I started at my highest at 289, with my surgery day wieght being 275. I've lost my 100 pounds, and this should be exciting! But I realized that I made a bad goal. 18 month goal is more realistic.
THANKS!
I think I am going to start using this site ALOT more often. The support seems genuine and helpful.

I have had a good eating day. I've had 80g of protein and lots of veggies, and I ran 2.5 miles at the gym, then did 45 min of strength training and then 30 min on the bike, going 10 miles. How about you? How did you do today?
