Topic: survey help
Hi-My name is Martha Dunn. I am completing my doctoral degree at Antioch New England Graduate School. My dissertation research project explores post bariatric surgery behavior, struggles and needs. If you have 10-15 minutes to complete the survey, it would be a big help to me. Also, if you have friends who've also had the surgery and could forward this message to them, that would be great. More in-depth details are on the link that follows and thank you in advance.

Congrats,
Our starting weight is similar (361). I'm trying to get 6 pounds off so I can be under 200 and it has not been an easy 3 months. My doctor's goal for me is also 160-165, but people already think I'm about 180. I think I'm going to stop at 180. You are an inspiration for me to keep trying to get these pounds off. Congrats again on your success

CONGRATULATIONS, SANDY! WOOO-FREAKIN-HOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
You have done great! You're blazing a great trail for me
Our surgery dates & stats are very close. I'm inching my way toward 200 (221 at last check) and I still can hardly believe I'm going to weigh under 200!! Maybe even by my wedding day 9/20/06? We shall see! Like you, I haven't been under 200 ever as an adult, probably not since Jr High. WHAT A TRIP!
Keep up the good work. WOW is right!

I have finally reached Onderland.
I am so excited. I literally cannot remember the last time I have weighed under 200 pounds. This is such a wow moment for me. I have 34 pounds to go and I'll be at my goal.

Hi Emily,
I want to encourage you to truly appreciate and be proud of what you have accomplished in the past year. "Only lost 125 pounds"? ONLY? Girl, YOU HAVE LOST ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-FIVE POUNDS!
WOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
If you want to keep it off, you have to acknowledge that you've lost it in the first place, right? So embrace it and claim it. You have done a big thing this year!
Now, going forward, I hear you! I have another 50 to go to goal, and it's definitely getting harder to stay on track. Being restricted from working out makes it a double whammy. I don't have any magic words, wish I did! But I'm rooting for you. You already know what healthy eating is like for you now, right? You know that a steady diet of junk food will take you back to gaining weight.
MODERATION is what I would urge you to consider. There are no BAD FOODS, only bad habits with food, I like to say. If it's a trigger food, stay away. If it's something you can enjoy in moderation from time to time, enjoy it in moderation, and don't feel bad about it for a single second!
You've taken a big step coming here for encouragement. HANG IN THERE!
Love,
Kathy
