Oh Kathy, I'm so happy for you! You are doing so well and Congratulations on the recent marriage. What an awesome blessing and I wish you both nothing but the best of what life has to offer! I'm doing well. I've lost 103 lbs since my start date of 3/2/05 and I haven't lost anything since Jan 06, but I haven't gained either. So all is well. I am trying to kick-start my weightloss though. I do so want to lose some more pounds by Christmas. So, I've increased the activity level and I'm avoiding all snacking between meals. "A bad habit I had to break".. Anyway, I'm only doing my 3 meals a day and also my protein shakes. I just started yesterday, so I'll see where I'm at next week during weigh-in time. My 18 month checkup with my doctor went well and all my lab work came back in the normal range. My doctor did take me off of my B12 supplement though because my result came back too high. So now, I'm just taking the B-complex and all my other supplements, but no b-12. He told me to try this but if I find that I'm getting tired, I can add it back in but not at the level that I was taking it. I go back in March 2007 (my two year mark) to see how I'm doing. Other than that, he was real proud of my outcome! "ME too!" We need to get our board active again! I notice that many don't visit anymore. What's up with that? LOL. Me, I'm just a lurker mostly on the main board, but I still check in from time to time and I think its important for us to check in with our fellow Marchers to see how we are all doing. Well take care and have a blessed day. Pebbles

Slow and steady wins the race? Heck, I dunno. All I know is I've tried to keep my shoulder to the wheel during the 18+ months since my surgery, and at long last, I stepped onto a scale, and saw a number STARTING WITH A "1"! Oh happy day! A week ago, I weighed in at 196. I started on 3/28/05 at 351 lbs. I have about 25 more to lose, and losing it actually seems possible! Even this far out, I still have months with up to 10 lbs. lost (also some with NONE lost, but I like the 10 lb months better right now!). In other news, I lost that last 4 lbs while on my wedding trip! I got engaged last September to my sweetie of (then) 6 years. On September 15th we left on a road trip from Alabama to Maine (of course I weighed, and was 200 exactly). We were married privately on a beach in Acadia National Park on September 20th. We got home the 27th and had a big wedding celebration here with family & friends this past Friday, September 29th. It's been a crazy time, but I'm getting back into my groove. I started working out with a trainer in June and have kept that up all along. We went mostly to national and state parks on our big road trip, and I did tons of walking around, some of it the most challenging hiking I've done to date. It was great to be able to do that, and to stay in old hotels with no elevators and not worry about getting myself and my stuff up and down the stairs. Heck, pre-op, I could not have made it from the parking lot of our wedding site to the site down on the beach. I've kept my profile updated pretty regularly, if anybody's curious about my post-op journey. Photos from our wedding are posted here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/47341438@N00/sets/72157594302893548/. Just wanted to give a shout-out to my March 05 buddies about finally reaching these latest milestones! I hope you all are doing well. Kathy

Exercise is a bomber for me as well. I have to force myself to do it. It's not one of those things that I so look forward to. I haven't gotten there yet. Water: I could concentrate more here also. Usually, I get in at least 64 oz, but then there are days that I'm lucky if I get in 2 cups. So I've been concentrating here in this area to make sure I get in more water everyday. I find that when I do, I don't graze! As far as my supplements go, I'm real good with taking those. Sometimes though, I wonder if I'm eating too much because being at 19 months out, it seems like I can eat more, so I've gone back to measuring everything just to make sure that I don't do too much. I concentrate mostly on protein, even my snacking. I haven't lost anymore weight since January, but I haven't gained either. My 18 month checkup went real well. All of my lab work came back with good results. All in all, I feel great! My goal is to start the weightloss up again and shed some more pounds by Christmas. So I'm forcing in the exercise and monitoring everything.... Pebbles

Exercise is the one thing I really don't do well with. I'm pretty good at following the eating plan and takeing all my suppliments but I just can't seem to get in line with the exercise program. I try but don't remain consistent with my efforts. I'll post later tonight with what I ate all day. Toni

I would be happy to be tested to see if I'm a match but I know my type is O+. As painful as it may be, I believe that everything happens for a reason. I will pray that God sends healing her way if it be his will. Toni

Topic: I AM HELPLESS!!! I NEED YOUR HELP!!!!
First of I want to put a web site on here and hope that lots of you go check it out. This is to help my child!!!!!! Be a organ doner, it saves lives!!!! To whom this May concern: my name is monika cayson and I am writing to you because I am in desperate need of your help.I do not see any other option but to ask you all for help. I have a 19 year young daughter, jennifer, with a kidney deseas called fsgs (focal segmental glumorus scluroses). She is on the national kidney donor list. The doctors say that if we do not get a donor quick it could be to late for her. The national waiting list for a kidney in georgia is 3-5 years. We dont have that much time. We were told to contact as many people as possible to see if we can get a donor. If you all cant be or wont be a donor we appreciate what ever help you all are willing and or able to give us. It is not the way it supose to be! A child supose to outlive the parents and the other way around. It hurts me to see that she is going through so much stuff in her young age. I feel so helpless. Just the other night jennifer came to me and said mom I got to tell you some things. Jennifer appoligized to me because she will never be able to have any kids of her own. She said mom I am so sorry but I cant make you a grandmother. Then she hugged me realy thight and said mom I am so scarred. I dont want to die. What is one to say to that? I did not know what to say. I cant tell her every thing will be ok, because I dont know if it will. I also dont know if any of you is willing or able to help us. So I just sat there with her and we both cried. I am begging you all to help me save my daughters life. We do not have much to give but our deapest graditude. Yes, this might sounds like a letter from every one else just asking for a free-bee, but it is not so. Jennifer's blood type is o negative. She needs a donor as soon as possible. If you need more information about my child and her condition feel free to contact me here on myspace. This is for my child Jennifer Cayson. Thank you all a lot & God bless you all a mother in desperate need of help to save her daughters live.
