Angela, Dont listen to what some people say! You are doing great! Everyone loses differently....and if you have went from a 26/28 to a 16..wow!! You are doing wonderful !! Keep up the good work and good luck at your appointment! Patti

On March 24 I had my open rny gastric bypass. I weighed 311 the morning of surgery. I now weigh 243. I lose about 10-13 pounds a month and should be at my surgeons goal by Feb. Some people tell me I am not losing as I should be, but I know I am doing great! I was wearing 26/28. I can now get into a size 16 in some things. I am happy with my tool! Tomorrow I go to my surgeon for a check up. I will update my profile then! Love Angela

Thank you all for responding to my post.... I really appreciate the encouragement. I think I will try to eat more protein and see what happens. Thanks for the compliment about my picture I've been feeling really insecure about myself lately. You all are great!

Well, I had a few scarry moments battling malnutrition , then was forced to gain some weight to reverse effects and back to losing again. I have last 80 lbs since surgery and went from a tight 26 to a comfy 16. I am so thrilled that things have turned around and I am actually starting to dream again. I finally made it to onderland but still not sure if I believe it. This was worth the challenges along the way!!!!!!

Please be encouraged. I have had quite a battle with malnutrition and had to seek the help of speiclaists to reset my metobolic system. As a result they actually put me through a period of weight gain That really bothered me. Now I am slowing losing again. But that experience made me feel like I am 2 months behind. Anyway- It sounds like you are doing great and other friends of mine who had WLS said they had a month here and there where losign just stopped. Hang in there!!!!!!

Scarlette, I know what you mean about being upset about weight loss. Some days, I feel soooo fat, too. However, at the moment, I feel excited for both of us. I never would have thought that I would be only 55 lbs. from my goal. Today, it seems so close. Actually, I don't know what my real goal is because I can't imagine being that thin! But I know that we will make it! About your question, I get about 1000 calories a day, and things seem to be going fine with my weight loss. Of course, I am one of the people that feels hunger. I could not have made it on your original 600 calories a day. Also, I increase my exercise any day that I feel like I look awful. I think it is better than sitting on the couch feeling sorry for myself - which has been my tendency in the past. I read your profile and I am wondering how your feeling now and if walking is even an option for you at the moment. It's very aggravating when our bodies refuse to let us exercise. BTW, you look beautiful in your picture! Becky

Just be patient. These plateaus always happen. If you are doing everythng right it will come again. Maybe if you up your protien by 20 grams that might help. You dont have that far to go to goal and it always seems from others I have read that the weight loss becomes harder, but just keep on keeping on and it will start up again. You are doing great.

Topic: Slooooooow weight loss this month..
I am just getting so dicouraged this month. Since august 1st I have only lost 3.5 lbs. This is really discouraging because I was losing 3-4 lbs most weeks. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I joined the gym, everyone told me I wasn't eating enough so I upped my calories to 800 a day instead of 600, and I drink tons of water. I eat mostly protein and the only carbs I eat is the occasional whole wheat toast with pb or some soy crisps. I am worried I'm not going to lose anymore and its freaking me out. I am very grateful for the 77 lbs I have lost, but I still have 46 lbs to my doctors goal and and 66 to my goal. Does anyone have any ideas about how I can kick start my weight loss. The old diet mentality tells me too eat less, but my Doctor said that might slow it down even more. Scarlette

Ahh yes!! I feel really good when I put on smaller clothes but those "fat" days still show up.. ya know that roll that still seems to stick out even tho my pants are smaller, makes me feel as big as I was when I started!! But I know Im not!! That saying is true that they operated on our stomachs and not our minds!! Keep up the good work!! Patti
