Thank you for the reply. I took a peek at your profile, and in your photos you already look 10 years younger.

i had my GB taken out at the end of june, i had no appetite for a while, but then it came back and i was a little hungrier than usual, probably b/c i didn't eat for almost 2 days. (day of surgery and then the day after i barely felt like eating)
i don't know if this might be a potential culprit for you, but i noticed that my appetite increased around that time of the month, usually a day or two before i started and then my appetite would taper off towards the end of my cycle. don't have that now though, i went back on depo shots and have stopped having my period altogether.

Jan,
Congratulations on your weight loss! 50 pounds gone is 50 pounds gone, When you look back on this in a year or two, a few months isn't going to make a difference.
Our stories are so close. I started at 285 and the day of my surgery, I weighed 261. I am also a slow loser. I just got off a 2week plateau where I sat at 205. Just yesterday I finally made it to the onderfuls. Today I weighed in at 198.
I sometimes get discouraged when I see others post their 100+ weight loss. I know I will eventually get there, so I'm happy. I know that I couldn't have ever gotten this far without the surgery.
Good luck to you and keep up the good work,
Suzanne

Welcome to March Madness, Dawn. All 3/05's are welcome!
My wife had GB removed during her WLS at the end of March. Of course, there are other considerations, but she is less tolerant of some foods than I am. Wonder if one has anything to do with the other.
Feel better soon and keep up the good battle!

To think back to just 6 mths ago and feeling like there was no hope and that I was bound to this FAT body for the rest of my life, that insurance was never going to approve me..and then they surprised me and approved in 3 days..and now 6 mths later I feel like a new person with a whole new lease on life.. isn't it just amazing!?! God is sooo good to us!
I wake up feeling like life is worth living for the first time in soooo long! I love this. I love reading other success stories too as it is so encouraging!

Hi Angela,
Dont listen to those people...I'm 2 days ahead of you, started at 313 and have lost about 76lbs. My surgeon said I'm right on track, so I have no doubt you are too. Congratulations with the weight loss and keep your chin up...think of it this way, after 5 months, we're almost half way done...when has that ever happened before?
Congrats again!
Sheila

Hi Dawn,
We are always glad to have more "Marchers" join the boards!!
I know there have been a few that have had GB removed after WLS...maybe they will chime in and give you there recolection of there appitite after the removal. I cant help there, I still have mine...but sometimes my appitite is so big it scares me too. I have alot of head hunger too though. Your weight loss is awesome!! 101 lbs in 6 months...You Go Girl!!
