Topic: RE: Slooooooow weight loss this month..
Scarlette, Don't get discouraged! The weight will continue to come off. I also joined a gym (Curves) in the middle of July and over the next three weeks I only lost one-half pound. Talk about a plateau! I thought my weight loss had ended, well short of my goal. I increased my water and kept going to the gym and have lost almost 5 pounds in the past two weeks. I'm now down 70 pounds since surgery on March 9, with another 30 pounds to go. Just keep at it and you'll be back on track in no time! Good luck, Lori

Topic: Elevated Liver Enzymes
I am seeing a liver specialist again to see why my liver enzymes are elevated. I had a gallbladder and liver ultrasound and everything is clear there. So I am wondering if anyone else has had elevated liver enzymes and what they did for it. I thought I heard somewhere that this can happen after surgery or if taking antidepressants ( Effexor). Anybody got any ideas??? Thanks, Melanie 232/159/130ish

50 lbs in 5 months is NOT slow!! I know - some people on here are losing gangbusters!! But don't compare yourself to others. You are losing at a very good and healthy pace. It's not slow at all!! At least you are losing! 50 lbs is GREAT!! I remember when I hit 50 lbs gone - it's like one hurdle and goal that I accomplished!!! You'll be under 200 very soon!! Hang in there. You are doing great!!! Trisha -95 lbs

Topic: RE: Hello fello Marchsters..new to this board
Welcome to this board!! I discovered this board when I updated my surgery date in my profile in February. It's nice having others that had surgery around same time so we can share what we are going through. Congrats on being part of the century club!! I'm 5 lbs away from that myself. I had a bit of a stall too this past month but am finally losing again and anxious to get to the 100 pound lost mark!! My appetite varies from day to day. On some days I am ALWAYS hungry and other days I barely eat and have to remind myself to get protein in. It's normal. Just don't eat every hour - space it out - and make healthy food choices and you'll be fine!! Trisha -95 lbs

Topic: RE: produding Pouch
My surgeon said that my pouch is not against the skin, but is deeper in our bodies - so it can't protrude. I feel a lump a couple inches under my sternum too and I asked my surgeon about it. He said that is my xyphoid process (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xyphoid_process) and that it's always been there. I just haven't felt or seen it before because of my morbid obesity. He said that there'll be other things I'll be discovering about my body the more I lose. LOL He said it's normal. I dont' know about it showing through shirts though. Ask your surgeon. That's what I always do when it's something regarding my abdomen. Trisha -95 lbs

Why thank you. I feel good too. I've lost a little more than my 8 year old son weighs. That is a good visual for me. No wonder I had trouble walking up stairs. I can't imagine carrying him up the stairs... I don't carry him at all.... HE'S TOO HEAVY!!!
