Topic: RE: How much can you eat?
I think the key is not how much you can eat, but how much you should eat. Just because you can eat that much doesn't mean that you should. Or if you are really hungry, eat a salad or fruit. Especially since you say you are lacking self control, try to eat things that are low in calories so even if you feel you are eating a lot, it won't stall your weight loss. You are still doing great with your weight loss. Go ahead and talk to your doctor about what you are able to eat. You never know, they may even think you are eating just fine or they can give you some pointers about what to eat. Don't be ashamed to talk to your doctor. I feel like I can eat a lot at times myself. But I've never stopped losing weight so I figure I must be doing something right. Keep your chin up and good luck. Kerri -101lbs

Topic: RE: Plateau Update
Thank you so much for the encouragement. I am working out like crazy, mostly cardio. I do a class called Rep Reebok that is repetative wt lifting. I have yet to start an actual wt lift program. My size really hasnt changed all that much during my stall. I'm seeing a tiny bit more room in my pants but not enough to get excited about. The good news is that I didnt gain tho!! Feel free to email me directly! I'd love to chat more with you! Amy ([email protected])

Hi Patti, Its amazing to read these posts and see that there are too many of us going through similar plateaus. I am thinking some of us really do just lose quick at first and then slow and steady afterwards. Today I have started with not drinking within time period of eating, that is so hard for me to stick to. But if it does wash our foods out quicker than makes sence Im gonna be hungry again quicker. I also am back to the peanuts, instead of crackers, I so love those carbs. I also do not do the excersizing, (dont do anything I cant spell) The replies to my post on frustration really helped yesterday and I just want to let everyone here know that I really feel based on reading old posts and going to profiles of others who have been successful and seeing they had some awful stalls too, that we are all going to be okay. I really see us in just a few short months telling post opts of 4-6 months that we have been there and we know they will succeed like we now have!. Cant wait till then so we can all be excited. Of course if I go with my own nature I will be in despair because Im at another stall. lol But if I am remind me of this stall that I got over!

Congratulations on your weight loss and getting into size 8s. Way cool! 55? It's never to late to make a change that makes you feel better and be more productive and even sounds like you're being a more fun grandmother. Good luck on everything, Hugggs, Heidi

Thank You Julio for the encouragment! Your right Its not a race, I just have to pace myself and show some endurance! Today I seem to be doing everything right and I feel pretty good. We are all going to succeed like you said in the end.

Hi surgery sister Patti! I started this at 258 If I remember right, now my husband says 268 but Im pretty sure it was the 258. I love that you put you and I have done a wonderful job. Its great to see that kind of positive feeling that you would have about yourself and the icing is that you feel that I have too!! Ya know I think your right about some days eating like a bottomless pit and some days not so much. I hadnt considered the days of not eating too much. Today I picked up the pepporoni slices and microwaved like someone had suggested and they really do come out like great little chips. My son is being sent somewhere in Ohio for his orthopedic education. Hope the people there are as wonderful as you sound!

Topic: MY six month anniv. too!
Hi Everyone, I don't post much but I read the posts everyday. Today is my 6 mos. anniversary (also my grandsons 2nd birthday) As of today I have lost 75lbs. I feel like a slow loser, I have only lost 8 in the last month but I feel great. I would like to lose another 30lbs. although everyone tells me I'm crazy. I'm only 5' tall so I don't think 115 is unreasonable. My surgeon never set a goal for me but my pcp thinks 125 would be just wonderful. I bought a pair of size 8 petite jeans the other day and my new work shirts are 8s also. That thrills me beyond belief but a 4 would thrill me more. I have so much energy and can play with my grandchildren for hours. I even went on rides with my 5,4,and 3 year old granddaughters over the summer. It's a wonderful thing and I am so happy I had the surgery, I just wish I didn't have to wait till I was 55 to to it! Patty 220/145/115?

Congratulations on your success! That is so cool! I'm guessing you wouldn't recommend the band to anyone? Do you know why it didn't work for you? I'm happy with my LAP RNY, but I have a suspicion that my sister wants the lapband since it's less dangerous. Keep it up! Hugggs, Heidi
