Topic: Finally weight loss
I'm so happy that the scale is finally moving. It's not much but lost 5lbs this week.I work so hard I was starting to get depress, even after visiting the nephrologist. He started me back on one medication because my B/P was a little high .That made me a little upset,I was on 5 medication before wls and gotten down to two.You know I was on cloud nine when he taken me off all those meds. But I'm a little better now so I'm on the road to sucess(I'm a bad speller).227lbs .Now I can caugh up with everybody else hee-hee just kiddle.I probably kill myself doing that.Goodnight everyone.I'mgoing to bed got to get up at 4:30a for work. Topic: 6 MONTHS YESTERDAY!!!!!
WELL I WENT IN FOR MY 6 MONTH POST OP APPT YESTERDAY, AND EVERYTHING WAS PICTURE PERFECT. HARD TO BELIEVE 6 MONTHS HAS GONE BY ALREADY. DOWN BASICALLY ABOUT 240 LBS FROM MY HEAVIEST OF 515. DR WAS ESTATIC AND TOLD ME NOT TO CHANGE A THING!!!! JUST TO THINK 6 MONTHS AGO I WAS ORDERING SIZE 8X CLOTHES ONLINE FROM KINGSIZEDIRECT.COM , USING A CPAP NIGHTLY, BUYING NEW SHOES EVERY THREE WEEKS BECAUSE MY WEIGHT WAS CRUSHING THE INSOLES AND POPPING THE AIR CUSHIONS, LITERLLY LAYING BACK TO DRIVE AND NOT WEARING A SEATBELT BECAUSE IT WASNT BIG ENOUGH. NOW I CAN GO INTO OLDNAVY(NEVER THOUGHT THAT WOULD HAPPEN) AND BUY CLOTHES WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM, I EVEN WENT TO AN ORIOLE'S GAME TONIGHT AND I STILL HAD ROOM IN THE SEAT!!!( I REMEMBER WHEN IT HURT SO BAD FROM THE ARMRESTS CRUSHING IN ON MY HIPS) I KNOW IVE DROPPED ALOT FASTER THAN MOST AND IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE IT HAS ONLY TAKEN 6 MONTHS TO LOSE AN NFL LINEBACKER.(KINDA WEIRD IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT RAY LEWIS WEIGHS ABOUT 240) CANT BELIVE I WAS CARYING HIM AROUND FOR SO LONG, NO WONDER IT WAS HARD TO RUN AND MY FEET HURT AFTER WORK EVERY DAY. I'M POSITIVE NOW THAT MY ORIGINAL GOAL WILL BE ACHIEVED , AND THAT IS TO BE AROUND MANY MANY YEARS TO COME FOR MY DEAR WIFE AND DARLING 3 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER TARYN. I NOW FEEL AS ALIVE AS I USED TO WHEN I WAS A COLLEGIATE ATHLETE BEFORE MY BODY DECIDED TO GO HAYWIRE. I THANK MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND MY DR FOR ALL THE LOVE AND SUPPORT DURING THIS TIME AND GRATEFULL THAT ILL HAVE MANY MORE YEARS TO SHOW MY APPRECIATION. DR KLIGMAN TRULY HAS HELPED ME TO CHANGE MY AND MY FAMILY'S LIFE FOR THE BETTER. HE SAID YOU TYPICALLY LOSE 2/3 OF YOUR WEIGHT BY 6 MONTHS IF THAT IS TRUE I MAY BE LOOKING AT 220 BEFORE PLASTIC SURGERY TO HAVE THE EXCESS REMOVED. I'LL BE A BAD LOOKING MAN AGAIN AT 6'3". MAYBE I'LL LOOK INTO COACHING A YOUTH WRESTLING LEAGUE TO GET BACK INTO THE SPORT. well ive rambled on enough later all Steve

I know its amazing. My 14's go on but they are tight. My 16's fit really good. As for jeans. I am not too sure what size. I haven't tried any jeans on lately. My 24's fall off and the last time I tried on 20's they were loose then that was many pounds ago, lol. I would say I might be a 18 in jeans. My hips are wider than the rest of me. I am pear, lol. Congrats to u!!!! Hugs Angela

I just got into 14's, too. It is so fun and I finally feel thinner. I can even wear shirts that don't go down to my thighs. If I have to plateau sometime, now would not be a bad time to do it. I could easily be happy in 14's for two or three months. And shopping is so easy, my size is everywhere. Love it, love it, love it!! I am happy for all of us Marchers! Becky

So true. I have my before and at 5 months at 100 lbs picture on my desk at work just so that I can be encouraged when I start to have sad thoughts. I have done well. I feel great but worry everyday that I am going to blow this like everything else I ever tried I feel like I am waiting for the other shoe to drop lately. I called my nutritionist and just went over the rules again and got alot of encouragement from her. I think that's what I needed. I needed someone *****ally knows about this (she's a 185 lb lost distal herself) to say I was ok. I love the encouragement from friends and family but from people who are going thru this too is the real joy. I hate it when someone says we have taken the easy way. I'm still waiting for the easy part to start. Subjecting yourself to major surgery, risking your life, changing everything yu ever did in eating in a days time. Hummm...doesn't sound to easy to me. I have done well and have not had one minute of regret. But easy? Get real.

I have the same problem I have lost 112 in six months and can't get warm. I was always too hot. I didn't really own a coat. I'm buying one this weekend and most people around here are still in shorts. I feel like my internal thermostat is on the blink. Must be part of the routine!

Topic: RE: Where's the ooompf??
Trisha, I know exactly what you mean. I also have felt a bit of loss of "oomph". I haven't really been eating a lot of bad stuff, the only thing I've been eating too much of is popcorn. I know that is not good and I don't want to get in the habit of snacking. I've lost 102 lbs. and am really happy with that but like you I don't seem to be too concerned with the fact that for the last few weeks, I've only lost a couple of pounds. I think exercise is a big key and know that I need to be consistent in doing that. Just keep plugging and we will pull through this. corgimom
