Topic: sorry took me so long
I wrote many moons ago re"my surgery battles.Well, finally had my open RNY in March 2005..have lost 130# since and feel great.I will admit initially I thought,"What the heck have I done?"...."What was I thinking???!!!"Big adjustment..but worth it.I was to go on insulin, had severe spinal stenosis.and high B/P..as a nurse,I was barely able to function in my chosen field if ER nursing...now I am reborn!!!! I love the new me...it just takes time, patience and understanding....I am healthier and happier now and plan to stay that way,Linda

Very funny! I love them all, but I especially giggled at the ones "your mother says you don't eat enough," "you're too big for your britches," and "cannot blame the cat for shedding."
Thank you for making me laugh!

I remember how desperately I wanted to reach the -100 lbs goal and how desperate I felt waiting for those last two or three lbs. to come off. I'm down -108 now and am stalled again. It's just my body's way of adjusting!
Good luck reaching your goal! You can do it.
Huggs and blessings,
Heidi
Topic: RE: Easy Shaper or Gazelle?
Hey Michelle, I am going to get the gazelle and the ab lounger for myself as a Christmas present. I usually don't spend that much on me but I got a babysitting job just so I could get a few extras this year, lol. Thank u!

Topic: OMG, has my plateu broken????
For those following my epic plateau journey, I had an appt with my programs bariatrician on 9/9. I weighed 216.8 then. Today I had my 6 month surgical follow up and I weighed 213.8. That's 3 lbs in 2 weeks! And I was stuck at 220 for 4 months, so I've now lost 7lbs in just a few weeks. Could this be it???
I also saw the nutritionist today. I am one of their cases for discussion at the team meeting on 9/27. So far, all anyone can think is that I'm doing WAY WAY WAY too much strength training. My eating is perfect, I walk at least 2 miles a day and get in as much cardio as I can at the gym. I expect to have them recommend that I do no more than 30 min of light weight training a day (lots of reps of only certain exercises using light weights) and then 30 min of cardio on a machine, and then walk the dog every night. I'm more than willing to do anything.
Oh, and of interest, my surgeon said it's not surprising to find people having different weight loss experience based on their body type. He said apple shapes like me often lose a lot really really fast in the very beginnning as their visceral fat thins, but that it's common for them to really slow down afterwards. He also said that pear shaped people lose fast upper body abut have a really hard, slow time losing the lower body stuff. Just thought that was interesting.
Thanks for all the support I've gotten. I'll post when I hear their recommendations after the team meeting.
