Topic: RE: Didn't want to let the month end....
I had some problems but no big deal. mI feel so good I could dance all night!!! I had adhesions, Gall stones and an ovariasn cyst. I went to the ER in terrible pain and vomiting. I was there three days and they were not sure what my problem was but did find cyst and gall stones. I had had stones for years. I was in a hospital where my weight loss surgeon did not work so as soon as I got out I went to him. He did a lap exploritory on me--removed the gall bladder, found and fixed the adhesions and got rid of the benigh ovarian cyst. I went in the hospital at 1pm and was home at 8pm. Went on a cruise 10 days later. That man is a genious. I go to him first next time. I am down 120 pounds . I weigh myself weekly and try to loose some but usually maintain.

I do not have your problems yet. I am having problems with regain. I am probably up 5 pounds (well maybe 8,) but I can not seem to go down.
I saw you on the board and had to answer. We have so little activity on this board. I guess everybody is off living life. I hope so.

Topic: RE: 2 years out and disappointed in myself
I had my surgery in March 2005 and have only lost 80 pounds. I still have 175 to go!!! I am so discouraged and embarrassed to even tell anyone that I have had the surgery. I am in a wheelchair so only really get to exercise during the summers when I can get in my pool. I won't get in a pool around other people. I live in Texas and it has rained so much this past month & temp are in the 70's so I haven't gotten my usual swimming in much this summer. I get hungry frequently. I don't get the full feeling or even dumping that I have heard about. I am not big on meat. My nutritionist told me this week to eat more meat so I wouldn't feel hungry. What was your daily menu like that helped you to loose?

Thanks for the reply. Sounds like our numbers and success with wls is about the same. I am very thankful for the tool, but I live in fear of gaining. I am ashame to tell you but I have eaten sugar two days in a row now. I have prided myself in not eating the darn stuff, but there is a cake cut up in little pieces in my freezer. DH put it there for himself, and it has been calling my name. I guess that shows us what pride can do for us. Back to 'one day at a time' staying off that stuff.
I have been having a problem with a group that I belong to. Really it is my fault. I over reacted to a situation and now I feel guilty. I knew better, but I did it anyway. I kept praying for a change of attitude, but it did not come soon enough. Now I will have to suffer the consequences. It has occurred to me if I had had food to stuff down my emotions, I would probably have reacted better. There again, I have been priding myself in not having any emotional problems with the wls, but I guess i see that I have had some. I just had not realize it.
Did not mean to put all of this on you. I just wanted to put in down somewhere.
Hopefully it will make me feel better.
Good luck in your journey. We will make it 'one day at a time.'

Congratulations on losing the 9 pounds. Sounds like you have things going your way. When I go out of town, my weight slips up a little too--like about 3 or 4 lbs. 10 lbs would probably send me into a tail spin. So glad you know how to deal with it.
Bread is my hardest thing to deal with. We eat out a lot and bread is my hardest thing. I like sugar but know I can not handle it. But that bread basket calls my name. We just went out and DH ordered a family spagetti. I ate a little of it, and we brought the rest home. It was the bread that I had a hard time with. I ate one piece but I could have eaten three. Even saltines bought me. I guess, it is easy to toss it in my mouth.
I find protein drinks help a lot. Also I get a good bit of exercise. I try to exercise every day--well some times I take Sundays off. I walk with a neighbor and do spinning (biking,) yoga/pilates, and weight lifting classes at gym. Some times I walk on treadmill at gym.
Again congratulations and keep working the program. Let's try to keep this March 2005 board alive. I have a feeling we are all going to need it.

Well I went on vacation the end of February and came back and finally weighed myself and noticed I had gained 10 pounds since November. So went back to basics. I got on fitday and started counting calories. In the past 3 weeks, I've lost 9 pounds and it's starting to look like I may even get to my lowest weight yet. Of course it's harder to lose now but I noticed as long as I keep track of what I am doing I seem to be having good success.

Topic: RE: Coming Up on 2 Years - How Are We Doing?
Hey Jeannie,
I can't believe that it has been two years. I started out at 298 and dropped to 172; size 24/26 to 12/14. So exciting, but now I have been put on a medication for some lesions in my L lung and I have gained 18 pounds back. I am sick!!! I am so afraid that it won't come off when I come off the medication. I have to take it 4 more months.
I have given some thought to going back on the liquid diet, but haven't decided if I will or not since I am convinced that the medication is the real culprit.
Thanks for listening. Good luck on the PS. Did you decide on the med school because of the price?
