HI everyone...
I am back online from surgery. I have had quite an ordeal. Last Sunday night I did the bowel prep ...oh what fun! then on Monday I went into the hospital and had the IVC filter put in. that was not bad at all. then at 1 o'clock this nurse from 
came in and said I had to do the bowel prep again. So, I start to drink the stuff and about an hour later started to 
... I told her no more !!!!!
So, Tuesday I had surgery. Do not remember much from that day. Then came Wednesday!!!! Ladies ... I thought the end was here for me. I started vomitting old, brown fluid and then starting with the diahrea with the same stuff. I was laying in bed vomiting and having diahrea at the same time. Not fun!! After changiong meds 3 times they found something to work. Blessedly on thursday I woke up with no nausea or diahrea. On Friday I was discharged. I had no pain. In fact, did not use any meds after tuesday night. then when I get home, I wake up Saturday and on my left side where there is an incision I had a lump come up about 3 inches and the size of your palm. It was tender and of course we all know it sounds like infection. I page the dr and he calls in an antibotic and tells me to put a heating pad on it. Well, I did and nigara falls happens..lol... It starting draining and when it did it went through 3 4x4's, my t-shirt and the sheet on my bed. It still is draining. It is very tender and honestly the only pain I have really experienced. I go tomorrow morning to see the dr and hopefully he can figure something out.
I have been doing great with weight loss. I started at 315 and tonight I weighed in at 296.5. I do not regret this at all and looking forward to asking you ladies A LOT of questions when I get back from the dr. I am a little tired and going to bed. Thanks for all your prayers and support. I'm happy that you're doing well...I had a simular experience with fluid backing up behind my incision...I had a "Grand Opening" too!

Our starting stats are very similar. Congrats on the weight loss so far! I can still vividly recall my hospital experience. I woke up with lots of pain in my left side under my ribs and was extremely nauseous! Found out it was the morphine pain pump. Kept asking them to change my pain meds and they never did so I just quit taking hits of it (yep, meaning no pain meds at all). I was so sick to my stomach and dry heaving and at times bringing up this brown, frothy stuff. My Mom told me later (much later!) that she had been quite worried about me. Well when I had to do the yummy barium swallow for the xrays, come to find out they had missed stapling a place on the back side of my stomach which made me had to go back in again that day for the surgery again! Afterwards, I was dreading having to do that barium thingy again, but my Mom told me they had done that while I was still on the OR table.....they weren't taking any chances the 2nd time!! My surgeons later told me that I was their first patient they had that happen to. When I woke up in recovery from that 2nd surgery though, that pain in my left side was completely gone! I guess it had been pulling on me where they had missed stapling something. I was in the hospital 4 days before they let me go home, but again, it was still all worth it!!
