I had to go to Dr. K earlier than my one year anniversary date because I started a new job this week. So far my new employer seems to have a great, very positive work environment. My one year visit to the doctor was actually 20 days before my surgery anniversary. So...my bloodwork came back excellent, cholesterol less than 140, triglycerides 48. I did set a record with the surgeon tho. I am his first bypass patient to lose MORE than 100% of my excess body weight. I lost like 106%-so he wants me to gain 12-15 pounds back. Definitely not something I would have ever thought a doctor would tell me, and definitely harder to do than I thought. I have maintained the same weight since December, but lost another pants size. I guess I am having trouble gaining the weight back because I like being a size 4. It is just amazing to me. This surgery has been so fabulous and all the people on OH have been so wonderful and supportive. Thank you all and good luck in your journeys. Becky R

I am happy for you and I agree, I would have trouble giving up being a size 4, too. And having the doctor tell you to gain weight?! You must feel like you are on a "Twilight Zone" episode. Congrats!

It is pretty surreal. I just have so many new things going on in my life. I can't help but think a lot of it would not have been possible without this fantastic tool! New shape, new clothes, new job. Thanks for the congrats! Becky

Hi Becky!!! We share the same anniversary date!!!! Congratulations on your acheivements!!! I haven't gone yet for my 1year visit, going next week. I was back several times to my surgeon within past several months, having gall bladder issues. I had it out on 1/16 which stalled my weight loss a bit, but I am at Century Club now and a size 10. I am only 9lbs from goal! I have some other issues going on in my body right now, during my tests & surgery for the gall bladder they repaired 2 hernias, removed my colon from my bladder, removed scar tissue and biopsied a mass on my bladder. Results no cancer, hurray!!! The problems were from my hysterctomy 3yrs ago. The mass is actually my ovary and fallopian tube attaching itself to my bladder. In addition to that they found a benign brain tumor. I maybe looking at addition surgery soon. I will find out at my year visit. I just had follow up Cat Scan and ultrasound. I get results on Tues. and Thurs. from Dr.'s. I have a positve outlook and feel the best I have felt in years!!! Good luck with trying to gain some back. I know it would be hard for me to hear that!
