Galbladder follow up
Well first of all, thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and support. I had the gallbladder out yesterday. It was able to be done laproscopically. Happy dance for that. I am feeling sore today, but glad it is over. I actually think this pain is much less than the RNY pain. So, it seems fairly easy. I am going to get a shower soon and see how I feel.
My one year follow up appointment is next Friday. I am interested to see what my labs show. Hopefully not much. I still take iron and expect that will not change.
Again thank you all,
Terri

Terri,
Glad to hear you're doing well. I had my gallbladder removed March 2nd and on the 21st will be my one year surgiversary....I had mine done laparascopically as well. My same surgeon that did my RNY did my gallbladder removal as well. I also had pancreatitist along with the gallstones so to me it was more painful than the RNY surgery was.

I hope you are well on your way to healthy. The thing that really made me decide to have it out was the gallbladder pancreatitis. I went to a liver doctor and he really was in insistent that I get it out. He didn't want to do nothing, like I did. Then, I saw the surgeon he said the same thing. So, being a nurse I have taken care of people with pancreatitis, and decided I really better do this when I wasn't sick with that. I know it is painful and I hope that you are over all that. Was your RNY laproscopic? Mine wasn't. There is no comparison for me. This lap was easy. And I have had 2 C-sections, too. With vertical incisions. I have had enough abdominal surgery, except for the TT, LOL.
Regards,
Terri
Hi Terri,
Glad to hear you are doing well. I had my gall bladder out 1/16/06 done lap with my surgeon who did RNY, I recovered alot quicker with this surgery although was in hospital 4 days due to reaction to anesthesia with vomiting. My 1yr anniv is March 30. It is hard to believe how quickly it went. I hit the Century Club!!!! 100 lbs lost. I am almost at goal 150, but I think I will go to 145, it is only 9lbs away. But anyway I am happy for you and good luck with the rest of your journey!!
