just wanted everyone to beware and be careful, on my one year anniversary to the day i was taken to emergency room with horrible stomach pains.... perfieated ulcer. never even knew i had one, almost died, had to get 2 pints of blood and am finally slowly getting around a lil bit, so much for having my surgery laproscopic... now i have a scar straight down the center of my abdomen, but to save my life... worth every last one of the 27 staples. i believe the ulcer was caused by me taking ibuprofin, because thats the only thing that i have done that i wasnt supposed to.... so please when they say ONLY take tylenol.... listen so maybe you wont have to go through what i went through... but all in all id still have the gastric again, im down about 147 pounds and now trying to be able to maintain my weight or possibly gain a few pounds. hope all are doing well.... keep up the great work!!!

Not only hard on your stomach but also causes ulcers in the blind stomach. The only way to get to it is to open you up. Definitely stay away form those NSAIDs. Terri

Jeanette, Thanks for your post and I am glad that you are doing better. I had heard that a possible side effect of ibuprofin was stomach ulcers, but no one told me not to take it. I have used it from time to time this past year. Are we as post-ops more at risk for this? Thanks, Annie
