Sometimes I feel discouraged

When I hear about all the successes each and everyone of you have posted. Not that I haven't been successful, I never could have achieved a 112 lb loss without the tool of surgery. What is discouraging to me is that I was really hoping to be at goal by my one year anniversary. I have 15 lbs to go to get to my surgeon's goal and 20 to get to mine with my surgery anniversary being in exactly one week. Needless to say, even with this tool, I won't make my goal. I am very happy that everyone here has done so well, I guess I'm just a little slow. Please keep posting your progress, I think it's important to all of us to keep encouraging each other. Toni

I can so relate. I see my surgeon next Thursday the 23rd and I'm so stressed about it. I haven't lost any weight in 4 or 5 weeks and I'm am up and down the same 3 lbs. I feel like such a failure. I have lost about 118-120 depending on the day and I'm terrified I won't lose any more weight or worse gain it back. My eating is pretty good, so I'm really confused about why things have slowed down so much. I try to eat around 1000 cal a day and get 75+ grams of protein. I drink water and exercise. Take care. Let's just hope this is just a bump in the road for us. Scarlette

I hope it's "just a bump in the road". I've only lost 7 lbs since I last saw the surgeon in November. I have been really conscientious about using the tool to it's fullest, making sure I get my protein and water. I was a little lax about exercise for a few weeks but I've really gotten back on track with that so I just don't know what else to do.

Hi Toni, Boy do I feel in the same place as you. I am one day behind you. I would love to be at goal (140) but my goal was to have lost 100 lbs by my 1 yr date. Then I would work on the rest. I have 7 days to lose 5 pounds. Well its taken 2 to 3 months to lose the last 5 so I dont think it will happen. I see so many other people who had about the same amount of wt to lose as I and the have done it months ago. Why cant I get there too?

"Why cant I get there too?" That's exactly what I'm saying. I know I just have to get past this. And I knew everyone here would step up with the encouragement I need. Thanks

Toni, I feel much the same way, I started off much heavier than most people and I feel like I havent lost enough. I'm about 25 lbs away from my own goal and getting there seems just impossible. I'm a week over being a year out, I was hoping to be at goal too. WE should work together to reach our goal by 18 months! Faith Leach Lap RNY 350/197/175

I would love to work with you to get to goal by 18 months. I believe that is definitely doable. Toni

I would love to have someone to talk to on a day to day basis about what we ate. Its great in a group forum but if you don't post is gets kind of ignored. I wouldn't mind having someone to have an email a day where we share what we ate, what we did to exercise. It would also give us someone to turn to that is exactly where we are in months.

You can email me at [email protected]. On one of the other boards we usually post a "What did/will you eat today" thread but that board is much more active than this one so I don't know if it would be as successful here as it is there. But you and I can do the same in an email. We can also track what exercising we're doing at the same time. We can start as soon as you want and if there is anyone else who you think would like to participate, I can create a distribution list and we can go from there. Toni
