POLL: How much have you lost?
Hi Everyone!!!
You all sound so very much like myself..... I started at 317 and am now at 193 which makes it a loss of 124 lbs. I want to loose another 50 lbs but have almost completely stopped loosing. I am also beginning to get compulsive (according to my mom) the other day I actually weighed my excess fat and skin (please noone yell at me for this) and That weighs in at 16 lbs.... can you imagine? I am currently in a comfortable size 16 but want to get down into atleast a 10. I have to admit I have not been excersizing like I was and have a mindset to start that again. I work in a small Optometrist office and all of my patients have known me for 5 years so someone everyday makes nice comments and of course I proudly tell them I had the surgery, which brings on a conversation about life afterwards so many ppl have really weird ideas about this surgery. But when I say I want to loose another 50 lbs this ppl get this shocked are you out of your mind look, and ask me where? I obviously must not see what they see because in my eyes the 50 lbs is a must. And I think very realistic for my height of 5'4".... I am so happy for all of us though... reading everyones posts and replys really help me feel like I am not failing and I have lost about the same as everyone else. Thank YOU ALL for updating and your posts.... they help keep me sane.

Hi March people!
I have lost 117 pounds. I started at 351 and am currently 234. I am 5'5" and my BMI has gone from 60.1 to 40. Size 4-5X to reg XL tops, and 34 bottoms to 22. Changes in quality of life? IMMEASURABLE. (in a good way!)
So far I have experienced a few plateaus of several weeks' duration, with some small gains at times (1-2 lbs). I am still having some weeks when I lose a what feels like a whopping 4-5 pounds. So I just assume I am going to keep losing and act accordingly Happy thoughts! Happy thoughts!
I would like to lose another 70-80 pounds. Thus I will not be reaching my original 200 pounds in a year goal. That was ambitious, I thing. Nothing wrong with ambition! But reason prevails. I do believe I can reach my goal in TWO years, so I'm adjusting (need to go do that on my profile!).
It's great to see how everybody's doing! Congrats to everybody on getting where you are!!!

Well I started at 341 and I'm 5'9. Since then I've lost 137lbs which puts me right at 204. I haven't stalled out but have been losing a bit slower than in the past. I did talk with my nutritionist and lowered my calorie intake to 1000 and that boosted my weight loss the last couple weeks. Now my next goal is to get myself moving and start going to the gym at least twice a week and hopefully 4 times a week. I've got 24lbs to lose before I can go ahead with any plastics but I would really like to lose about 30 or 35. It seems these last pounds are always the hardest to get off but I'm not giving up until I am at goal.

Hello all!
My highest weight was 280 but I lost down to 270 before my surgery. I went south of the border since my insurance wouldn't cover it. My surgery date is March 4, so tomorrow will be 11 months for me. As of this morning, I have lost 124 pounds! I feel wonderful! I am in mostly size 8's (if they have elastic waist!) I probably have 20 pound of skin 'hanging' around my mid section! YUK! I weigh 146 and wanted to be at 125 by 1 year. Don't see that happening! Oh well! I am very pleased with where I am and will continue to plug away. This month I have only lost 6 pounds.

Thanks for posting this question!
I weighed in a few weeks ago and was happy to see that I weigh 180. The day of surgery I weighed 296. So I have lost 116 and thirlled!! Dr. Cole asked me what I wanted for a goal in the begining...I said that I wanted to be under 200...even if that was to be 199. His goal was to get 70% of excess fat off me...and that would be 101...I think...so I was able to hit both goals...BUT...
Because I am 5'9 to be "normal" on the BMI chart I would need to lose 11 more pounds...I would LOVE to get there, if I dont then I am ok with that. I would say that I am a size 14, but they are all getting pretty baggy for me...so I guess I am mostly a 12...whoa...I would of never thought it!! Thanks again to all who have walked with me on this journey to a better life style!!
((hugs to you all))

I will be 11 months out on February 9th. I am 5'7" and started at 315. I weigh 165 for a loss of 150 lbs. My original goal was 157 to put me in the normal weight range but I feel great where I am at and have started to eat to maintain the weight I am at. I take my vitamins as follows:
morning - 6 calcium chewables
lunch -6 one a day chewable, 4 Super B-complex, 4 B-12
night - 6 tums extras, 2 colace
I don't follow a special diet. I have been eating a lot of vietnamese food - tou fou, pho noodle soup, spring rolls etc. I eat alot of fish and chicken and some beef. Fried foods are a no-no they make me deathly ill. I haven't had a sode in over 18 months and sometimes want one but just ignore it. I can eat most anything, small amounts of sugar are ok for me which I have added to help stop my weight loss. Ice cream used to be my favorite comfort food but now makes me nauseated. I eat a lot of bananas, oranges, nectarines and grapes, nuts, granole and cheese.
DJ and I exercise pretty regularly. I turn 37 on the 10th of February and I hope to get a tandam sky dive for my birthday!
Hope everyone has continued success!!!
All my love,
Jeannie
