POLL: How much have you lost?
Ditto on the crawling weight loss. I've lost a total of 110 lbs, 15 pre and 95 post-op. I have 17 to go to get to the goal the surgeon and I set. I may even try to go down about 5 more after that but it surely has been a slow go lately.
I know partly is because I'm not as good as journaling my food intake, which for me makes a big difference. Partly because I'm eating more carbs than I should be. I still have a huge sweet tooth and eating sugary things makes me nauseous but sometimes I still give in and have a few bites of something I shouldn't. But I've upped my exercise and am paying more attention to my water intake, with which I struggle at times, so I'm staying positive and am doing what I need to do to be successful.
If I can just get that last 17 off by March 22nd when I see the surgeon I will be ecstatic!
My weight loss has slowed. (Thankfully) I started at 254 and am now at 138. My ideal weight according to the doc was 145. I bumped up my fat/calories and am holding at 138 now. At 5'8", 138 is about as small as I want to be. I am wearing a 6 or a 4 in pants depending on the manufacturer. My DH is disgusted with my new figure and it is causing some serious marital problems. We are seeking counselling.
I am sure you will be able to lose that last 38lbs-after all, you had surgery only 10 short months ago!
Good luck

I started out at 256 and my weight has stabilized at 149 for a total loss of 107. I haven't lost anything in almost two months. At 5'11 wearing a size 8, this should be good weight to stick with. I am smack in the middle of the normal scale. We can always improve, and now I want to start working out and see if my muscles can hold in some of this flabby stomach!!
My weight loss has also been at a crawl. I am down from 357 to 212. I still have around 50 pounds to loose. I religiously go to the gym 3 days per week and work out both cardio and weights. Since October mine has been slowing down. I average maybe 3 to 7 pounds a month but most of the time it is closer to the 3 pounds mark. This is by far the hardest part so far of this entire journey. I had wanted to be at goal by 12 months but have since scaled that back. I would just like to be in Onederland by 12 months. That would mean 12 pounds to loose between now and March 2nd. Don't forsee it happening though.

I agree with all of you - I started at 300lbs and just yesterday hit 185lbs. I havent lost anything in so long and just got on the scale and only lost 5 lbs in the oast mth and a half. I have a total weight loss of 115 lbs. I am very happy for that but want to get down to 170. I am 5'10 and have looked at all sorts of things that say 170 should be "my weight"
Any ideas on how to jump start this loosing again? I would love to loose the last 15lbs by march 9th 1 yr since my surg. Doubt it will happen but who knows!
Congrats to all of you - And continued best of luck!!

Just a word of encouragement for you. You are probably 170 when you account for extra skin. I told my nutritionist I wanted to weigh 160 and she told me to stop at 180 because the rest of that 20lbs would of been extra skin and if I decided to have plastic surgery to remove it, then my weight would be 160. So you never know, you could be at your goal already ;)

Hey folks!
I started out at 235 and am now 135, but would still like to lose another 15 lbs. I've had some health problems since the first of the year and I hope once I get back to work next week and back into a routine that I can finish off the last 15. Everyone is doing great! You all are my heroes!!

I started at 386 and was 356 at surgery. I am 240 now as I have been for a solid month. I have been frustrated as I have added exercise and still have not moved. I really did not have a clue as to a goal and wonder how much all this extra skin weighs. I am thrilled at the change in my life and am enjoying it. But I am not ready to accept 240 as my "normal" weight. I would really love to at least be under 200. I have my yearly appt March 15 and wonder what the surgeon will say about a reasonable goal and skin weight. It helped to read that a lot of you are going through the same wish to get off the plateau. We have all come a long way and I, like you, am so grateful. Besides, not gaining is really losing (or winning the battle) as I see it.

I started at 332. 290 at surgery on 3/30. As of this morning I'm at 163 for a grand total of 169 lbs lost. I am thrilled with my size 10 pants but feel that my ideal weight is closer to 145. Since Xmas my weight loss is virtually non existent, but I admit to overeating...It is getting hard to do this. I guess the honeymoon is finally over. I am so grateful for the tool and the progress. We can do this!
